What’s cookin’? A new life in the Old West. What’s cookin’? Recipes from a Drytown kitchen. These recipes are intended to be quick, easy, everyday preparations. Some will be excellent for storing or putting aside for later and, on occasion, I may get fancy or adventurous. Mainly, though, I like to prepare simple, rustic, tasty meals that don’t require too many unusual ingredients or cooking-school techniques. If you try something you like, let us know, and by all means tell us how it can be improved upon.

Last year at this time, we were watching in shock and horror as our lovingly planted and tended first vegetable garden was eaten away, root by precious root, by a devilish little animal known as the gopher. And by devilish I don’t mean impish or naughty in that mischievous yet still somehow adorable way. Be warned: no raised beds, no hardware cloth, NO veggies!

Sunday, May 5, 2013. This weekend I looked at paint colours and carpet samples and got a quote for new carpet to replace the current burned and stained one. I want to go budget but even budget isn't cheap. The room was a grow room and then a place for squatters before V bought it so the carpet is a mess. Our cats have also added some new puke stains to the mix. I want a lighter carpet since the room is kind of dark but don't want it to get dirty. There's a 6th surfboard under the bed. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. A Day at SOWA. Our second time at SOWA open market. This summer-a great place to go for food and shopping Sundays in Boston. This time, it was not only was it a family affair-with Adrian, Mira and Max offering an extraordinary amount of help- it was a friendly affair as well!
