Calligraphy and Camera

Thursday, October 11, 2007. J has a couple of 24"x36" canvasses that she's painting now. I'm looking forward to seeing those complete. I won't give away what they are at the moment but the idea is very cute. Without further ado, here are the small paintings. The first one here, of a dragonfly, was painted by our close friend, D. The next one of a butterfly was painted by J's mom. The bee and the ladybug were painted by J. Monday, October 8, 2007. That's my excuse for the bad quality of the picture anyway!

Calligraphy and Camera: Our story so far...

http://www.calligraphyandcamera.blogspot.com/2007/10/our-story-so-far.html

Sunday, October 7, 2007. Our story so far. We started this adoption journey about a year and a half ago, in April of 2006. Back then we were still trying to decide on international vs domestic adoption, what countries, etc. It seems like a really long time ago now! We ultimately decided to adopt two children internationally. A lot of research, thought, and discussion led us to. Somewhere along the line we named our daughter-to-be from. Here we’ll simply call her “C”. Grow longer and longer. However, near...

Calligraphy and Camera: Finally...

http://www.calligraphyandcamera.blogspot.com/2007/10/finally.html

Sunday, October 7, 2007. We finally got around to creating a blog. J and I will share this one, which could be fun because she's going to have all kinds of cute things and artsy stuff and I'm probably going to be more techie (J would say geeky) about things. :). One quick note on names: I guess I'm a bit of a privacy nut so we decided not to use actual names. The folks who we share this blog with will know who we are anyway. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Crouching Father, Hidden Toddler. Current Ti...

Calligraphy and Camera: Tiny turtle

http://www.calligraphyandcamera.blogspot.com/2007/10/tiny-turtle_08.html

Monday, October 8, 2007. I'm posting this mainly as a test of blogging via email from my phone. That's my excuse for the bad quality of the picture anyway! Last Thursday evening I was leaving the office late and I spotted this. Little guy (or gal, as far as I know) hanging out on the sidewalk. At. First I thought it was a lizard hiding under a leaf but upon closer. Inspection I saw that it was a turtle with a long tail. I haven't seen. Office building so we are occasionally visited by all sorts of little.

I have tried to stay positive during all the ups and down of the past 8 months of this journey, but the past two days everything has come crashing down. First came THIS. Article from the AP. Then THIS. From the embassy. Both are terrible news about corruption in the VN. All I can do is believe right?

Our adventures in adopting our baby girl from Vietnam. Sunday, March 2, 2008. We have a NUMBER! We are so happy to officially be on our agency's waiting list! Everything that can be done with our paperwork is done now, so the wait begins. Thanks to Wikipedia, I have some facts about the wonderful number 42-. 42 is one of The Numbers on the television show Lost, along with 4, 8, 15, 16 and 23. The eight digits of pi beginning from 242,422 places after the decimal point are 42424242. Lori, Gilbert and Ethan.

Journey to Jasey: October 2007

http://journeytojasey.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

Our adventures in adopting our baby girl from Vietnam. Monday, October 29, 2007. We had a big bump in the road last month with a problem obtaining our Immigration approval. I had to scramble to get some documents from Virginia, and Jason had to do another interview with our home study agency. I am so happy to say that the home study social worker called this morning to tell us our addendum is complete! I am going to pick it up in a couple of hours and drive it straight over to USCIS. Please tell me Jasey.

Our adventures in adopting our baby girl from Vietnam. Monday, March 17, 2008. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Jake has been home for a week, and we are loving every minute of it! He is 11 months old now, it has taken us this long to get all of his paperwork done so he could avoid quarantine once he got to Hawaii. It was stressful, but worth it, and it all worked out in the end. Hmmm. Congrats on finally getting your puppy home! Such a handsome boy! And the green really brings out his eyes :). We have a NUMBER!

Journey to Jasey: September 2007

http://journeytojasey.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

Our adventures in adopting our baby girl from Vietnam. Sunday, September 30, 2007. We are having a lazy Sunday, so I figured I could use this time to answer the most common questions that Jason and I have gotten since we started announcing our plan to adopt. Why can't you get pregnant? Since Jason and I met, we have always talked about someday adopting children. We think it will be a privilege. To be able to open up our hearts and home to a baby that is in need of loving parents. How do you start a blog?

Calligraphy and Cartography – a Role Playing Game blog

A Role Playing Game blog. Location Card – Obelisk. July 14, 2016. You can see a giant stone obelisk towering above the treeline. As you approach you notice that it is actually hovering a few feet off the ground. You can feel the crackling of magic on your skin. A low hum fills the air. The obelisk is a relic of a past civilization and allows magic users to tap into its power and cast ritual magic. The obelisk draws magical creatures to it and bends them to its will.
