SubTropical Queensland Open Garden: February 2015
http://ianjudy.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
SubTropical Queensland Open Garden. Saturday, February 28, 2015. February 2015 Garden News. Well there is finally no comlaints about the lack of rain in this month’s blog. We have had over 600 mills since Christmas and the Cyclone produced 230 mills with no real damage, just one blocked drain. All our tanks are full and so much water is being lost through the drains it makes you want to cry. The garden presentations have well and truly started with trips to Tweed Heads, Caboolture and Kenmore Garden Clubs.

The first gardening presentation for the month was to the Clairmont Garden Club situated at Park Ridge, and then we had a bus load from the Gold Coast Rose Society and finally a presentation to the Maleny Garden Club. On our way to Maleny everything was brown, not a blade of green grass anywhere, we start climbing towards Maleny and everything suddenly turns green, wow what a sight for sore eyes. I then replaced some of t...

http://ianjudy.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
SubTropical Queensland Open Garden. Friday, August 01, 2014. July 2014 Garden News. I have spent most of the month at my son’s house building fences, laying turf, building a raised vegetable garden ect. The end (almost) product is looking good, still a fair way to go but at least the red soil is now covered in grass and the house will stay a lot cleaner. Our yearly trek to the garden Expo at Nambour was great as usual and we found some rare plants to bring home, it’s really well worth a visit. The tropic...

Vireya Rhododendrons: July 2009
http://vireyarhododendrons.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2009. A sight to cheer the heart. This Vireya hybrid is called "Neesa" and would have to be one of our favourites. It has perhaps more of the cold temperate Rhododendron appearance flowerwise. But with it's cousins flowering in the Spring. This plant has stunning blooms in the middle of our Queensland winter. Please click on image for a larger view. Thursday, July 2, 2009. More blooms from our display garden. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A sight to cheer the heart.
