Last week saw us in tshirts planting early cover crops. And come to think of it, New Year's Day we took a paddle on Penobscot Bay in almost 50 degree weather! After much fussing a cold-weather cover crop chosen and set! Not much skiing this winter. Instead there were lovely walks to favorite spots;. Most locals know this special beach.

Heeding my own prediction we took the kayaks out for a run on the St. George. Bluest of blue skies, shining sun, no wind, bald eagles and osprey with catch in their claws soaring just over my head, a seal following behind our kayaks. Just the most perfect day. Sweet pea back on the water. Done for the day, reward time.

The sun is strong, no leaves on the trees, so when you are outside it can feel very tiring this time of year. Notice the careful, wide-legged stance!
