A place for fish, surf, photog, Rum, Beers…. This year we were without Dr. T. Todd Jones. He was busy defending his thesis at the University of British Columbia, and preparing for his move to Hawaii for a new job with NOAA National Marine Fisheries. So yes, we are all incredibly proud and stoked for our brother! And we give thanks for the epic weather for once, it is not taken for granted by our group! After a couple days of getting our ass kicked in the wind in Sugarloaf, searching for poons everywhere, we knew we’d have to make a big move to change our luck. I’ll take being able to see and having wind! It was a very interesting trip this year, on land, and on the flats. Making good time through the Keys on Friday morning, we stopped at World Wide Sportsman for some new boat kicks, and at Florida Keys Outfitters for a few different permit flies. Back in October I had serious damage to my skiff as the result of a collision with a phantom underwater object. That’s what insurance is for though… No worries right? Wrong After submitting my claim to Progressive I was informed that they had dropped my collision and comprehensive coverage. What? Part One: Back in the Saddle. A hell of a way to end the day.
