All The Things I Ate On A Cruise Ship - Priya's ObsessionPriya's Obsession. All The Things I Ate On A Cruise Ship. August 10, 2015. Between the two trips I’ve recently taken back-to-back recently, I haven’t been working out much. And for those of you who don’t know, I’m trying to lose all of the weight I’ve gained during my year in Australia. So I figured the best way to that was to eat all of the things on my recent 4 night / 3 day cruise via Carnival Cruise Line to the Bahamas with my family. My first ...

Work With Hecktic Travels. Words by Dalene Heck / Photography by Dalene and Pete Heck. Why are we so drawn to destruction? I pose that question to you, the collective human we , as it’s not one I can determinately answer myself, despite the fact that Pete and I have touched on this topic before. And drove many hours out of our way in Namibia to visit Kolmanskop.). And in the case of Kolmanskop, being slowly reclaimed by the desert around it. The wind’s velocity picked up as the sun rose higher....There i...

Driving the Skeleton Coast - Hecktic Travels
http://www.hecktictravels.com/skeleton-coast-namibia
Work With Hecktic Travels. Salt Roads and Skeletons. Words by Dalene Heck / Photography by Pete and Dalene Heck. The coastal city of Swakopmund sits on a split landscape. To the south, the bright orange dunes of the Namib desert. To the north, the eerie blank canvas of the Skeleton Coast. The Land God Made in Anger. The Gates of Hell. Our attraction was immediate and we wanted to see as much of it as we could. While a very large portion of it is closed off and only accessible by air, the entrance to ...

Work With Hecktic Travels. Photos from the Namib Desert. Words by Dalene Heck / Photography by Dalene & Pete Heck. I am not a morning person. Nor very patient. Those two facts should have meant that in theory, I would deeply dislike travel in Namibia. At times I got cranky. Mostly when I was hangry of course, which is perfectly reflected in my notes that say the outcrops of mountains sometimes looked like. Large crumbs of chocolate cake. And as I learned, whining isn’t allowed anyway.). Our hotel in the ...

Our Best Travel Moments Of 2016 - Our Wanders. Back to top ↑. Our Best Travel Moments Of 2016. December 27, 2016. It’s that time of the year again when everyone gets nostalgic and we are no different. To be honest, curling ourselves up on the couch while drinking hot tea, eating some chocolate and talking about ‘the good times’ is the only thing we want to do on a dark, chilly December day. We’ve been to far more places than we originally planned and we had several last minute trips. 6 of the countries w...

When I'm 64 Tour Highlights
http://www.dangerous-business.com/2015/08/when-im-64-tour-highlights
August 4, 2015. When I’m 64 Tour Highlights. I shared my very first passport stamp with my mom 10 years ago. First passports. First trip outside of North America. First passport stamps. For both of us. Since that trip to New Zealand a few weeks after I graduated high school, I’ve gone on to fill up a passport (and get started on a second one) by visiting almost 40 more countries. My mom, on the other hand, still just had that one lonely passport stamp. Until this summer, that is. After a Beatles song.

Our Food Guilty Pleasures – Drive on the Left
http://www.driveontheleft.com/our-food-guilty-pleasures
Our Food Guilty Pleasures. 1 Deep dish pan pizza, preferably from Pizza Hut. These days, it seems widely accepted that thin-crust pizza is the best. Purists refer to Naples-style pizza as the top of the pizza food chain. I have to disagree. Squishy crust is delicious, especially if buttery from the oven. And if it’s a Personal Pan size from the ole’ Hut, even better. I will always encourage fried cheese of all kinds, no matter how inauthentic it is. 5 Get your protein! Be made with canned ingredients....
