We've wrapped up a very successful annual campaign, moved our office to the new Wellmark YMCA, and are now deep in planning for Family Weekend and Teen Retreat (April 24-26), as well as our summer sessions! Today's school kids are being taught a very different approach to writing than in years past. If I may date myself, "back in the day" your handwriting was an element of who you were. Remember once you learned cursive? Then stylized writing really took off. You'd practice for hours making your letters individual enough that you stood out, but not so much that your teacher wouldn't accept the work. Sloppy handwriting? Good luck getting THAT assignment accepted and graded! Times have certainly changed.

We had our first pump class on Wednesday night. I've been pretty excited about pumping and I was happy to see Jaxson so enthusiastic about putting in an inset. A way of thinking. Serving others,one summer at a time…. One week out of my summer for the past 10 years has been dedicated to Diabetes Camp and the hundred’s of children who attend. I heard about this camp in Boone, Iowa called Camp Hertko Hollow. When I was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of twelve. My mother wanted me to go and I promptly refused. I didn’t want to admit that I had a chronic illness. I wanted to be “normal.”. Besides, I hate bugs and am an introvert. Is always looking for volunteers!
