Capt Pete Ide, Charter Fishing, Chesapeake Beach, MD. Capt Pete's Charter Fishing. 2016 Rockfish Season (Now Booking Online! The 2016 Spring Trophy Rockfish Season opens April 16 and goes through May 15. The limit on Rockfish in the spring is one fish per person, 35″ minimum. When the summer season comes in (May 16), the limit changes to two fish per person, 20 minimum. Expect to be trolling exclusively up until about June 1st. Sometime in June the Spot show up and then the live-line fishing picks up.
