The most famous of carp waters, Redmire Pool, sits gracefully in a fold in the Herefordshire countryside not far from the Welsh border. I have visited Redmire many times since the mid-nineties as I was a member of the 'Winter Syndicate' and I have booked many Summer weekends too. It is a stunning water yet surprisingly small. I always cherish the time I have at this wonderful place. It no longer holds the monsters it once did (or does it?

Bundy's Pit is located not far from Peterborough in the Cambridgeshire countryside. The owner runs a small carp syndicate on this lovely 8 acre lake. It is a very old, very deep clay pit with origins dating back over 100 years. It is a very special water that contains many big commons amongst it's impressive stock. The lake record was broken again in November 2014 with the Original Big Common at 49lb 10oz to Craig Banks. (pictured right). Visit the lake without prior permission from the owner.

The Mangrove Swamp nestles in wonderful rural Shropshire. Not much can be said about this amazing water that hasn't already. Through the writings of syndicate leader Tim Paisley and members Paul Selman, Shaun Harrison and others the lake has become quite famous. and rightly so in my opinion. The beauty and tranquility that can be experienced at this 18-acre pool is second-to-none. Not to mention the fabulous fish it contains.

This weekend was a social session with long-time friend Steve Guy on a little deep lake not a million miles from Bundy's Pit.
