The Van Allen Probes mission is part of NASA's Living With A Star Program, and consists of twin spacecraft carrying scientific instruments designed to help understand the Sun's influence on Earth and Near-Earth space by studying the Van Allen radiation belts, ionosphere, and thermosphere.
