These are things that I think are totally worth checking out. Consider this the highlight version of this year's recommendations. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). If your ...

the juniper bends as if it were listening: Monthly Recommendations: August 2013

The juniper bends as if it were listening. Sunday, August 11, 2013. Monthly Recommendations: August 2013. A podcast that I recently discovered. The hosts prattle on about "science, horrible news, and humor," among other things. I'm really loving it so far! A band composed of David Bazan (Pedro the Lion, The Headphones), Will Johnson (Monsters of Folk, etc.) and members of Bedhead and The New Year. A super-group as far as I'm concerned. Their first album is incredible! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Sunday, July 27, 2014. The Courtly Chamber of Fairy Cave. The Dwarves tell no tale; but even as mithril was the foundation of their wealth, so also it was their destruction: they delved too greedily and too deep, and disturbed that from which they fled, Durin's Bane.". The Lord of the Rings (1954) by J. R. R. Tolkien. And "pari" denoting "fairy". Pari can also mean "stingray". Is that some kind of small mammal? Towering monolithic staglamites taller than houses and covered in vegetation nourished by the ...

A mote, a log. A Review of “Spirit of Talk Talk” (Various Artists). Unlike most other musical groups of the period, I can actually recall my first experience of Talk Talk. It was the video for their song, “ Life’s What You Make It. 8221; from their 1986 album, The Colour of Spring. Unbeknownst to me, they had already released a series of records before that one. In fact, The Colour of Spring. 1988) and Laughing Stock. That gravy train wasn’t meant to last, however. Spring. But then came came. This album ...

A dear friend, a Baptist minister that I used to work with, recently sent me a link to a preview of the film. Saying that he'd seen it, he warned me that it was not very good, but he said that he'd be interested in reading my opinion of it. 8212; — —. 8226; blonde girl:.

A mote, a log. Quote of the day . Read our previous post. All religions, including Buddhism, stem from our narcissistic wish to believe that the universe was created for our benefit, as a stage for our spiritual quests. In contrast, science tells us that we are incidental, accidental. Far from being the raison d'être. Why I gave up on finding my religion. Comments left anonymously may or may not be posted.
