Here's wishing a very happy 150th birthday to Alessandro Moreschi, born on this day in 1858. In celebration, I've posted lyrics for all his surviving recordings. In my journal. A hat-tip goes to. Who very helpfully pointed me towards the last set of lyrics I'd been looking for when I posted in this community asking about them. I'll be spending this evening immersed in his recordings, with a glass of wine in my hand. Thank you, Prof. Moreschi, for leaving us such a powerful and moving legacy.

Chalumeau Music is the name musician and teacher Amy Ward chose for her business when embarking on the wonderful world of self-employment some ten years ago. 'Chalumeau' proved an excellent. Choice, being a word that few folk could either understand or pronounce! So, the Chalumeau register is in fact the name given to the lovely resonant and rich low notes on a clarinet, which Amy enjoys playing a good deal. A French word, it rhymes with 'Alamo'.
