Adventures with Shyloh: December 2014
http://adventureswithahorse.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 1, 2014. No stirrups, right? Technically, I did No Stirrup November, since I didn't ride at all with a saddle. This will continue into January. Just sitting, and trying to keep her from eating grass. So she decided to try to eat the picnic table instead. We stopped to talk to some friends and this is were Shy got silly. She could see her "spot" and wanted to go there. I would turn her around and then around we would go again. Round and round, I was getting dizzy! Ugh, her and that spot!

Adventures with Shyloh: 2014 Goals
http://adventureswithahorse.blogspot.com/p/2013.html
Specific Goals for 2014. For real. I must ride Shyloh. I think she is at a much better spot in her life that she will be more accepting and not so quick footed. 2 Go on a trail ride. Anywhere. The back fields of the property, the marsh. I just need to get out! Lose weight and get in shape, girl. I hit the 10 lb mark, but Christmas may have set me back. Work more vigilently on loosing the weight and getting in any shape but round. Same for Shy. And have a fun time with the lead liners. 5 Work on driving.

Adventures with Shyloh: boarding sacrifices
http://adventureswithahorse.blogspot.com/2014/10/boarding-sacrifices.html
Tuesday, October 7, 2014. For those of us that board horses, what sacrifices are you willing to make? What I mean by this is each barn is different and offers different amenities. The first barn I boarded at had a beautiful, large, well lit indoor arena. The pastures were huge with grass and nice fencing. There was a custom feeding program and good hay provided. The stalls were large with nice bedding. The owner did training rides and gave me lessons. Cooper, my dog, and Shy in the large arena. In my are...

Adventures with Shyloh: September 2014
http://adventureswithahorse.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2014. Yesterday was the annual fall drive. Last year we went and raced the minis. This year, rode with Beth and Art and got to help harness and hook a six horse hitch of Haflingers. It was pretty awesome! The Haflinger hitches started a Haflinger and Hitch Pony Championship Series. This year from all the shows they have been doing. There are four hitches that made it to the finals: Brugger's Other Farm, Second Star Haflingers. In October, which of course, I will be going. When we tu...

Adventures with Shyloh: better rides
http://adventureswithahorse.blogspot.com/2014/11/better-rides.html
Sunday, November 23, 2014. This week has given us snow, freezing rain, below zero temps, rain, and now 50 degree weather. Shyloh seems to not be fazed by any of it. Shy has been doing excellent with her mounting, no issues in forever. I hopped right up and Shy was ready to go. She tried to do her spins like last time, but I think I was a bit more sure of myself and Shy gave up really easily. After that, Shy was a golden pony. We led the whole ride! Shy was great. Relaxed, sure of herself, walking at ...

Adventures with Shyloh: fuzz
http://adventureswithahorse.blogspot.com/2014/11/fuzz.html
Thursday, November 6, 2014. I have no new updates. . .boring, right? More crappy, rainy weather has been happening. And now that it is almost dark by the time I get to the barn, it really sucks. Shyloh is preparing herself for winter by continuing to grow in fuzz. Lots of fuzz. Fuzz that still finds its way to burrs. Burrs that bury themselves in fuzz. It seems never ending. But Shy makes a really cute fuzzy pony. And more fuzz is yet to come. Fuzzy head, sad disappearing forelock. Im pretty darn fuzzy.

Adventures with Shyloh: two horse tack product review: halter bridle
http://adventureswithahorse.blogspot.com/2014/06/two-horse-tack-product-review-halter.html
Friday, June 6, 2014. Two horse tack product review: halter bridle. This halter bridle is awesome! Is home to handmade halters, bridles, harnesses, breast collars, reins, and other items. All made in the USA. They have leather, but offer beta biothane in all of their tack. I love beta biothane. It comes in many colors and it is so easy to clean. So easy. It is strong and durable and waterproof. I ordered a halter bridle. Snap on browband) with the two color combo. The halter bridle fit her great! Now it ...
