I generally operate on logic, and for the best of me, I can't figure out how the "Idaho Stop" law isn't on the books in every state. It's simple, makes sense and still requires cyclists to behave like law-abiding citizens. Aside from that, this animation is visually great, so do yourself a favor, and watch it! Bringin it home for Team Paul. Well, I stuck it out in the C's this season, and brought home the win for Team Paul. As Paul says. TEAM PAUL DOMINATES THE SLOW CLASS OF A REALLY SMALL RACE SERIES! And so it was, my first cyclocross season, and probably my last season of winning. What does an Overall Winner receive in a tiny race series? I also received a nice $50 gift certificate to a bike shop in Redding (that's a good number of tubes! More cycle-themed beer implements. I'm in love.

My hood, North/East Chico. An hour, on and off. Some kinda left knee tweakage. I saw three toads. Claire and I did some window shopping on the run. Ha. We're hardcore! Wednesday, August 31, 2005, 9:42 PM. Wind: the invisible hill. Sprint to the Chico airport. Low 70's, clear, and WIND. 20mph headwind gusts kept me below 10mph at points! Insane wind today. Much of the ride home was 30mph! I was going 9mph on a dead flat road at the Chico Airport into a massive headwind, and a guy laughed out loud at me.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009. PBP 2007, Part 6: Erosion. In early 2007, I participated in a number of cycling events, of which the qualifying brevets were only some of those rides. PBP of course was a central discussion topic so many times and at those other rides I met a number of prospective PBP riders. The Grizzly Peak Cyclists. At every low point something always came along to change the mental and physical landscape and on these long, straight and flat roads between towns I began to see riders in Audax.

In the gentle landscape between the growing town of Petaluma and the coastline, there is a small, and perhaps mostly forgotten community named Two Rock, CA. Two Rock never became a commercial center, never became the western seat of finance, and in fact the road doesn't even widen as you pass through. Most people can travel along the highway here and never realize they've passed through a town, and never even notice the three.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Chasing the sinking sun. I'm wondering why more people don't plunk the money down for even minimal lights. For. Useful lights at REI. Hell, REI will mail them to you if you can't make it to one of their stores, and no doubt dozens of other retailers. Would do the same. Planet Bike is not the only company making better than adequate bike lighting either. Check out Cateye. So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again.

Been out on it half a dozen times and I had forgotten what a joy it was to ride a bike with no mechanical problems!

Sunday, June 25, 2006. Redding riders visit CMB / 4 State ride trip. Great service if I do say so myself! Then a couple of ride in the Little Belts of MT and hitting the trails of Ketchum / Sun Valley ID. Should be a great time and my Buddy Erik is going as well. Even the helmetcam will be tired after this trip.
