Harnessing the power of genetic variation. ER stress can contribute to the pathogenesis of many different human diseases, like obesity, diabetes, and neurodegeneration. In many of these cases, genetic or pharmacological manipulation of ER stress levels influences disease outcome. This suggests that differing ER stress responses in patients may determine disease severity. Genetic architecture of the ER stress response. Genomic adaptation to ER stress. Thursday, June 18, 2009. The transfer of Thermal Energy as heat requires a difference in temperature between 2 points of transfer. Heat may be transferred by means of Conduction, Convection or Radiation. Conduction is the transfer of thermal energy due to collisions between the molecules in the objects. Collisions between atoms and molecules trasnfer kinetic energy from the warmer to the cooler object.
