It's hard to recommend any one neighborhood; stay in SF to see the city, or stay in the East Bay or Marin to get out of the city and explore our wonderful parks, wineries, cheesemakers, and orchards. California is one of the world's top food destinations - combining local, fresh produce, wine, and cheese, a rich supply of hip urban authenticity, and intense competition for local restaurant-goers with impossibly high standards. We can't list every restaurant we've enjoyed, but here are a few of our recommendations in different neighborhoods. Berkeley - particularly the Gourmet Ghetto. Is a birthplace of the local food movement.

Chris and Jennifer - 7 September 2013. Traffic and Bay Bridge closure. Bay area traffic is notorious. If driving, check Google Maps traffic predictions when planning travel anywhere, anytime. As of Tuesday, 3 September, the Bay Bridge is open again! Traffic is still pretty bad as the kinks get worked out. Dial 511 or use their website. SFO and OAK are the two most convenient airports. Check taxi rates first - it costs almost $100 to get from SFO to our house.

We'll be there 4:30-8pm with a pile of Cheeseboard (and/or Arizmendi) pizzas. This will be a simple picnic: pizza in a park with friends. THE ADVENTURES OF THE SMITH'S. Saturday, July 9, 2011. Summer . . . Where Have You Gone. Okay, so I have been slacking at updating the blog! We have been busy, doing what we do in the Summer. Climbing, rappelling, camping, and running in the Wasatch Back! All of which have been so fun, and we are sad to know that the summer is coming to an end! We also added a new member to the family, little Bowr! Most of our van. Ellis taking a nap. Justin building the raft. Found a cool ranger station on the adventure.

Here's our Christmas card/photo journal that we sent out this year. Here's the kids with Santa at a church Christmas breakfast. Lily wouldn't go near the guy. I decided to be nice and not force her. CJ asked for Legos and a big Star Wars walker. Haley asked for an MP3 player. She's getting so big. It was a snowy, fun time.
