Oktoberfest in Montreal | NOT A LUMBERJACK
https://notalumberjack.wordpress.com/2014/02/18/oktoberfest-in-montreal
Life in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Laquo; Niagara Falls. February 18, 2014. Back in the summer, we moved house to live in the borough of Verdun which is just to the south of downtown Montreal. I am now much closer to work and, when the weather’s good, have a very enjoyable bike ride commute along the Lachine Canal. On the banks of the canal, and a 30 minute walk from our apartment is the McAuslan Brewery. Posted in Food and drink. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Our Man in Madrid.

Niagara Falls | NOT A LUMBERJACK

Life in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Laquo; Thanksgiving in Toronto. February 17, 2014. My girlfriend and many other Canadians I’ve met can’t quite understand what the fuss is about Niagara Falls. Or, at least, why it’s number one on most people’s list of ‘things to do while you’re in Eastern Canada’. I insisted we drove the short distance round the end of Lake Ontario to Niagara. Was it worth it? Well, for the sole reason of saying that I’ve been, yes. Would I go back? Tagged Maid of the Mist. Leave a Repl...

Chalet and snowtubing | NOT A LUMBERJACK
https://notalumberjack.wordpress.com/2014/02/20/chalet-snowtubing
Life in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Laquo; Beatles in Montreal. February 20, 2014. Between Christmas and New Year we spent a couple of nights in a chalet “in the middle of nowhere” with a group of a dozen friends. The chalet was in Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon. On the shores of Lake Maskinongé. We had a great time, particularly as we spent time outdoors – most of the holiday it was around -40 so neither of us were really that tempted to leave the house! Life in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Laquo; Charlevoix Fjord du Saguenay and La Malbaie. February 16, 2014. Yes, I know it’s been a while since my last post and I can only put it down to sheer laziness! Not that I haven’t been busy at work! Anyway, back in October we spent thanksgiving weekend in Toronto. I’ve been saying to the missus for a while that I want to visit and was finally able to convince her because there was a David Bowie exhibition. We also loved the Queen Mother Café. It’s certainly worth sp...

Beatles in Montreal | NOT A LUMBERJACK
https://notalumberjack.wordpress.com/2014/02/19/beatles-in-montreal
Life in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Laquo; Oktoberfest in Montreal. February 19, 2014. Back in November, I was invited to an event that was held in the Pointe-à-Callière museum in Old Montreal. It was a chance to visit the Beatles in Montreal. Exposition – getting in free is always nice. The exhibition itself was interesting – a good mixture of Beatles memorabia, included Lennon’s car, some records and paintings. There was also some vintage footage of the band playing on the roof of Abbey Road in London.
