It should be much shorter than the last one and less invasive. The doctor will disconnect the temporary device and connect the leads from last surgery into the permanent SNS. It is a measure of God’s grace that during that decade our family increased by two wonderful little boys, as a family we had five surgeries, we spent nearly two months traveling for doctor appointments, and we moved to a new ministry. We ushered in Joshua’s 4th birthday with allergies and a case of the stomach flu. This has postponed the birthday party for a week. However, don’t feel too sorry for Joshua. He had the stomach bug first, so he was feeling great by his birthday (unlike his sick parents). Then, Grammy came to visit (a day later than planned to avoid our bug). She also mad Joshua a cheesecake.

Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Joel and I are now another year older. On July 9th and July 10th we turned 36. There was a brief moment where I felt totally guilty that we hadn't brought the kids as it was so magical and fantastic! But of course the moment did pass. The kids and I designed a scavenger hunt on Joel's birthday with the big present in the end being a family night at a Colorado Rockies Game. The Rockies lost (very sad) but I learned about rally caps! Yup, I really didn't know this was a thing.
