13,000 Feet of Elation. July 24, 2015. A more accurate description: Elation at 13,000 feet, sandwiched between shortness of breath and tired feet. With loose rock that requires a careful step, the way back down wasn’t much better. I definitely got frustrated on the descent when I wasn’t covering as much ground as I expected. The views and feelings you get at the top? You know what I love most about Mt. Dana though? Along the first mile of trail. Rocky route, but the top is in sight! And the view west.

Adventure is Only a State of Mind. July 15, 2015. A recent solo camping trip left me with a lot of time with my thoughts. One of the things I remember thinking throughout my trip: this is awesome. Why isn’t my life this awesome all the time? I don’t have a real good reason for that. I met a few adventure photographers/travelers while hiking in Oregon. Needless to say, I was quite envious of their lifestyle. But it also made me motivated to introduce more adventure into my everyday life. 8220;You do not.

This is an all-day, strenuous hike that requires rappelling, wading in icy water, and includes some serious photo opps. I would recommend an early start, a wetsuit and booties, and a dry bag for all your valuables and dry clothes. Enjoy! The views in Zion are absolutely breathtaking. A teaser of what lies ahead.
