Commuting to Hong Kong

Commuting to Hong Kong. Saturday, March 7, 2009. That incident has always since epitomized a truly intrepid traveler. So when Granite decided to get his hair cut off at the end of the CNY holidays, I wasn't going to argue. We walked through the streets of Ranong in the heaviest heat I've experienced in Thailand until we found a espresso/fresh orange juice stand backed by a barber shop. The barber slowly put the guard on the buzzers and said to me, "Ok? Yes, I said. Then he asked Granite, "Ok? I've also b...

Commuting to Hong Kong: Training for RIR

http://commutingtohongkong.blogspot.com/2008/11/vertical-blue-sea-with-matching-paddles.html

Commuting to Hong Kong. Sunday, November 30, 2008. I haven’t been doing much other than paddling for the month of November. I’ve put off blogging, drinking, e-mailing, going out, running, reading or writing for four weeks of hard training. I just started doing outrigger canoeing in October and have spent many long hours training, hoping to make the team for the Round Island Race that happened yesterday, the 23rd of November. I can’t count the number of times I heard:. 1 Rotate your body. 10 Use your legs.

Commuting to Hong Kong. Saturday, August 23, 2008. Rachel E. Adams. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Commuting to Hong Kong. Rachel E. Adams. I'm starting my second school year in Hong Kong. There have been lots of changes in my life, but still it's a lot easier than this time last year. I'll be living on Lamma Island. Hopefully I'll be hanging out lots at the beach, on my rooftop and balcony. Come by for a beer, or a virtual beer. View my complete profile. Hong Kong Daily Photos. Divisadero - Michael Ondaatje.

Commuting to Hong Kong. Saturday, May 24, 2008. Sitting here on my window seat I can see Disneyland when I look to the right. Space Mountain shows among the trees; the fast ferries pass on their way from Central Hong Kong to this perfectly groomed area that I live in. Rachel E. Adams. Saturday, May 17, 2008. I feel the jetlag because each program for me has been overwritten by the landscape that surrounds it. I don't know if overwritten is the right word. Commuting to Hong Kong: February 2009

http://commutingtohongkong.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Commuting to Hong Kong. Thursday, February 12, 2009. It has been a long time between posts this year. It's mainly because I'm living more and huddled over my computer less. I've also been away a lot more this year. This weekend will be my fourth trip to Thailand since August. I feel a bit ungrateful when I think that I'm tired of flying there. Fate will bite me in the butt if I ever complain about tropical beaches. Rachel E. Adams. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Commuting to Hong Kong. Rachel E. Adams.

Hong Kong Daily Photo. Shimmer and shine through smog. Monday, June 23, 2008. Today I'm flying to Bangkok. I'll be taking the summer off from Hong Kong and this blog. These are the shoes I bought for my adventure. Don't they look rugged and able to take on anything? First I'm flying to Bangkok by myself, then on to Hanoi. I'm treating myself to a trip on my own - an early birthday present for my 40th in August. I'm back at work on August 18th. I have wandering to do until. Rachel E. Adams. Papa and kids ...

Hong Kong Daily Photo. Shimmer and shine through smog. Thursday, September 25, 2008. On the bus on the way home yesterday, my seat mate and I looked up at the familiar buildings of Hong Kong and simultaneously gasped. To the left of the "Lightning Building" (which is the new Bank of China building), there used to be a neon sign writing over and over the letters AIG. Now the panel is dark. I guess US TAXPAYERS doesn't fit. Rachel E. Adams. Saturday, September 20, 2008. Kid on hammock with glow sticks.

Commuting Tales

Saturday, July 28, 2007. This afternoon I received a message from my Dad who was stranded on a train just outside of Jamaica. There was a suspicious package on the platform that caused delays that lasted over an hour. The LIRR shut down. While waiting for the train to move my Dad called the LIRR hotline to find out more information. When they gave him the details that he already knew he asked if they had a plan other than just sitting and waiting. Guess what.they didn't! Oh how don't miss the LIRR! This ...

HUMAN visits NATURE

Sunday, June 01, 2008. The changing of the blog. The short of it: This blog is finished. The new version is here: http:/ commutiny.wordpress.com. The long of it: I've been blogging intermittently since 1999. The first incarnation was a home-made HTML version I cobbled together on Geocities, before it joined the Yahoo! Nostalgia*). It was mainly an excuse for me to acquire basic proficiency in HTML, and after that was accomplished the blog fell by the wayside. 2003 found recurrent angst over the blog's ra...
