a fashionelle: give me SOMARTA!
http://afashionelle.blogspot.com/2011/03/give-me-somarta.html
On my way to the FIT bookstore for a [ MUCH. Needed] patternmaking book yesterday, i detoured into the school's museum to check out their current exhibits: his and hers. And japan fashion now. I have little obsessions with pieces from each of the three exhibits, but something incredible attracted all of my attention for the last two days, even t. Hough i had seen the japanese display back in november. Showcased the pioneer japanese designers of the late 70's, 80's and early 90's [note: rei kawakubo.

http://afashionelle.blogspot.com/2011/04/egon-meinen-lieb.html
Egon, meinen lieb! Translation: i heart egon schiele. Self portraits by schiele. I've been swamped, again. (so goes fashion school finals), but here's a brief on one of my favorite expressionist painters and a quick flashback to when i was a fine arts student. ah the good ol' days of oil painting, screen printing, and live figure drawing. I am enrolled in a fashion history class that fuses art with fashion. PERFECT for me! And our final project? SCHIELE SLIDESHOW COMING SOON]. View my complete profile.

a fashionelle: and here's my excuse for absence....
http://afashionelle.blogspot.com/2011/05/and-heres-my-excuse-for-absence.html
And here's my excuse for absence. Finals at a prestigious fashion school are not the typical 1 week whirlwind of deadlines. finals are a month long event that consume all hours of the student's life, breeding a hoard of blistered-finger, unshowered, sleep-deprived hermits. the upside? There are things to show for it besides exam grades. (click to enlarge! My construction 2 final was based on the Egon Schiele. Collection posted previously. techniques/features included? Too bad class is over. I still have ...

Wild Communion: DIY Backyard Wedding III
http://wildcommunion.blogspot.com/2011/01/diy-backyard-wedding-iii.html
Stories from our heart, hearth, and home. DIY Backyard Wedding III. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. I am not sure if you guys have picked up on it yet, but I adore this wedding! Yes, this my friends is the 3rd post in a series. Enjoy the eye candy and creativity of Kelly Waldron. Instead of renting table linens (the lace overlay on top of the tablecloth), I saved up JoAnn Fabric coupons and bought lace at half off. It turned out to cost less than renting lace. Now, they are my window curtains! The candy tabl...

a fashionelle: ok so it's not THAT bad...
http://afashionelle.blogspot.com/2011/05/ok-so-its-not-that-bad.html
Ok so it's not THAT bad. As mentioned back in february when i assembled the mood board, this is an intimates collection for anthropologie, drawing inspiration from beach/storms/miu miu. our CAD class was geared toward textile/print design, so all prints and plaids designed/altered by moi. I like your patterns and the way, you´re using it. Hand drawings are better anyway. They show your personality, even if CAD-use is raising up so quickly. But what, if you need to sketch something quickly? New Dress A Day.

January 4, 2011 · 8:29 pm. You know those cool, clear summer nights that you just can’t make yourself go inside? After 5 months in new york, i feel qualified to finally offer an opinion. it’s filthy. mind you, i have a slight preference (HAH! New purchases. smog and human traffic make breathing fresh, virgin air nearly impossible. However, even with week-old blackened snow piles and the bustle of holiday tourism in the city, the christmas spirit miraculously masks it all. Also, while we missed the actual...
