Kimberly jozwiak's blog. Reading and writing about health, yoga, horses, spirituality and whatever else catches my attention. Category: Mermaid: A Memoir of Resilience by Eileen Cronin. The Stuff of Resilience. February 26, 2014. February 26, 2014. Today my yoga practice emboldened me to write through my swampy places. My courage was sparked by a conversation with a wise friend of mine. He told me about a recent Bob Edwards’ interview. This morning, I selected the yoga practice called Trust in Yourself.

At liberty with the two black ones. I am aware of the verdigris, by the way. Thanks to Facebook and social media we can easily share the trivialities of our lives. With just one or two clicks. So it comes we scroll over a ton of pictures and video snippets each day. For some we click the like-button, some we even share and others leave us wondering. Or make us grin. The latter are the topic of today's post. Those pictures and videos. My personal all-time favorite are the pseudo-harmony-horsey-pictures.

Old horses | being with horses
http://beingwithorses.blogspot.com/2014/12/old-horses.html
Tuesday, December 23, 2014. 2015, we'll have known each other for ten years. My project horse will be 21 and me 31. But let's not count numbers. Let us focus on quality: My project horse doesn't get older, he gets better. I don't need fiery temperament in a horse. But I appreciate calmness and understanding. When you've been together for some years, c. Ommunication becomes more and more subtle. I don't need words anymore, barely gestures. The day is drawing to the end. Photo: Marko. Us and the great mome...

February 2015 | being with horses

What do we do if our horse breaks gait. Most of us will probably be annoyed, whack the horse and tell him to speed up again. Still, there is something in the mere act of breaking gait that‘s worthwile to think about. Maybe you know the quote „Let your idea become the horse‘s idea“,. Which is pretty well known in horsemanship circles. We not only want our horse to follow the feel and understand the aids. We want him to understand what our focus and our intention is. Well and also not very attentive. M...

ULLERUPS WEPODO: Sommerbeite 2014
http://murphysred.blogspot.com/2014/07/sommerbeite-2015.html
Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Life, the Universe and Everything.

Half an inch can make a big difference. Between tension and relaxation, between anger and wellbeing, between confusion and clearness. I am talking about this half inch in length of my project horse‘s lower lip. He is a rather calm horse and not too expressive in his communication. Meaning no big gestures, no sudden changes. So I have to look closely. If I want to know where he is at. And his nose and muzzle are tell-tale signs. And the area that leads to the nostrils. For pain. Picture: Nadja. It's a den...

A few days ago during a lesson. We had a bag attached to the stick and were waving it in front of the horse's nose and to her shoulder. The owner pondered: "Sometimes I have the impression that she doesn't respect the whip anymore". And this is why today's post is about sensitizing and desensitizing. And the mistakes we tend to make). What is she doing with the whip? Desensitizing the horse is a vital part in the training according to horsemanship principles. But how can the horse tell. If we want him to...

How much human is a horse? | being with horses
http://beingwithorses.blogspot.com/2014/12/how-much-human-is-horse.html
How much human is a horse? Tuesday, December 02, 2014. Lately, I got involved in one of those ineffable discussions on Facebook. I know it‘s of no use, and I know it‘s a waste of time. But sometimes, I just can‘t keep my mouth shut. Like in the following case. One woman posted in the Natural Horsemanship Students group. That she‘d been on holiday and now she‘s back and finds a changed horse. She was convinced that the horse was sulking. Well, and here we are. Do they know the same emotions as us humans?

Trails to Lead Old Cowboys Home Again: January 2015
http://theeashke.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Trails to Lead Old Cowboys Home Again. The journey of a 50-something woman and her eleven year old Straight Egyptian Arabian, Thee Ashke. Friday, January 30, 2015. I will make no bones about it: I love to trail ride. My pony loves to trail ride. We both like to ride out on trail more than we like to ride in an arena. During the winter months at the beginning of 2014, our trail riding came to a halt, due to weather and circumstances. Last year I was boarding at TMR. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Today our ...
