Chicken Piccata | Cook with Fire

https://cookwithfire.wordpress.com/2012/06/22/chicken-piccata

June 22, 2012 · Filed under Cooking. Here’s a fun dish to make. Really easy, yet still elegant. The only real chore to me is the meat pounding, but it reduces the cooking time tremendously, so it’s worth doing it. Other than that, it’s a great dish to make on a lazy afternoon. The sauce is similar to the one I made using veal. Of course I made little changes. Again… what else is new? 1 large Boneless Chicken Breast (sliced into 2 thinner pieces). 1/2 lb Angel Hair or Capellini. 3 Garlic Cloves, minced.

Loco Moco | Cook with Fire

https://cookwithfire.wordpress.com/2015/07/10/loco-moco

July 10, 2015 · Filed under Cooking. So, I hosted a 4th of July shindig and grilled a ton of burger patties, among other things. I did good having prepared just the right amount of food and didn’t have a lot of leftovers in the end. But still, it can’t be perfect, right? Well, I looked it up and found this Hawaiian dish called Loco Moco. It sounded so simple and so… so ghetto! But I was so intrigued that I gave it a go anyways. And let me tell ya, if you like rice dishes, this is a knockout! You are comm...

Veal Piccata | Cook with Fire

https://cookwithfire.wordpress.com/2010/03/07/veal-piccata

March 7, 2010 · Filed under Cooking. Can I just tell you that this dish is the bomb! I made extra so I can eat it again a few more times. And it’s easy to make. I got this idea from a recipe on the Whole Foods website. And I made some tweaks just to simplify the process. It’s delicious with pasta. I also had it with polenta and it’s just as good. So, do yourself a favor and get cooking! 1/2 lb. Veal Scaloppine. 1/2 cup Unbleached Flour, seasoned with Dried Herbs, Salt and Pepper. 2 tbs Capers, drained.

Baked Tilapia | Cook with Fire

https://cookwithfire.wordpress.com/2012/06/03/baked-tilapia

June 3, 2012 · Filed under Cooking. I’ve been eating a ton of fish lately. Not sure what got me on a fish roll but it’s been nice cutting back on the red meat, for sure. I usually get the fillets since they’re obviously easy to prepare. But yesterday, I saw a couple of 1 lb. fresh whole tilapia for a buck and a half each. That’s about 5 times cheaper than the fillet! No brainer, I thought. And it’s one of my favorite variety, to begin with. So anyway, here’s what I prepared tonight. 1 Onion, thinly sliced.

Kwong Eats ....: Tarua Seafood @ Koh Samui, Thailand

http://kwongeats.blogspot.com/2013/12/tarua-seafood-koh-samui-thailand.html

A blog about my breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sunday, December 22, 2013. Tarua Seafood @ Koh Samui, Thailand. I was in Koh Samui for 4 days to see visit girlfriend Itsaree who was training to become a certified Yoga Teacher. We had our first meal at Tarua Seafood which was located a few hundred metres from her class in Vikasa Resort. The Seabass was a little overcooked for my liking. I particularly enjoyed their Stir-Fried Fish Maw. The Fish Maw had a good springy texture and was not too oily.

Kwong Eats ....: Hot Pot @ Little Lamb, North Jiangsu

http://kwongeats.blogspot.com/2013/11/hot-pot-little-lamb-north-jiangsu.html

A blog about my breakfast, lunch and dinner. Saturday, November 9, 2013. Hot Pot @ Little Lamb, North Jiangsu. My colleagues took me for Hot Pot on my last night in Siyang County. Despite its name this restaurant does not belong to the famous Little Lamb Chain in China. We ordered our usual of Beef and Lamb and also Pig's Brain (a favorite of Chinese Locals). The meats were fresh but the Fatty Beef was leaner than what I'm usually accustomed too. Price: $ (Approximately USD $8 per person).

Kwong Eats ....: Really good Greek Food @ Poseidon, Munich

http://kwongeats.blogspot.com/2013/12/really-good-greek-food-poseidon-munich.html

A blog about my breakfast, lunch and dinner. Monday, December 2, 2013. Really good Greek Food @ Poseidon, Munich. We spent a couple of days in Munich to visit our friends Bali and Brooke who took us to this little Greek Restaurant called Poseidon. It was my first time having Greek Food in Germany and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The menu was very similar to many Greek Restaurants in Toronto but the preparation of the food was much better. Price: $ $ (Approximately USD $30 per person).

A blog about my breakfast, lunch and dinner. Saturday, November 23, 2013. Frankfurt Cuisine @ FichteKranzi, Frankfurt. Opened in 1849, FichteKraenzi is one of the oldest Apple Wine Restaurants in Frankfurt City. The restaurant specializes in serving local Frankfurt favorites in addition to some regional German and International Dishes for non-locals. I enjoyed the onions soup. The cheese was gooey and the broth was full bodied. Salad with Chicken Fillet. Price: $ (Approximately USD $20 per person).

Kwong Eats ....: Japanese @ Watami, Shanghai

http://kwongeats.blogspot.com/2013/11/japanese-watami-shanghai.html

A blog about my breakfast, lunch and dinner. Monday, November 11, 2013. Japanese @ Watami, Shanghai. A popular Casual Japanese Restaurant Chain, Watami is an Izakaya that has restaurants across South East Asia and East Asia. We paid a visit for a quick lunch at their Raffle City Mall location in Shanghai. The Sashimi wasn't very fresh. The Salad was my favorite dish. The dressing had a mild tang but was quite balanced and the Egg was perfectly poached. Price: $ (Approximately USD $10 per person).

Cook with Fire

Don't play with fire - cook with it! Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Sunday, July 12, 2009. I am lucky enough to have grown up in Greek neighbourhood here in Vancouver. Once a year, Broadway, the neighbourhood's main artery, is shut down for the appropriately named "Greek Day", a street festival where gustation is where it's at. Sunday, April 12, 2009. Based on the latter, I have prepared two desserts for tonight's dinner - a chocolate raspberry cake, and a french lemon tart. The lemon tart is based on a Rams...

Cook with Fire | A Passion for Food and Cooking

July 4, 2017 · Filed under Cooking. It’s the 4th of July and it’s flippin’ HOT today! I’m tired even when I didn’t do jack. So, not only did my wife and I decide to skip the fireworks, we downright shunned the grill for dinner and opted to simply heat up the leftovers. Happy Independence Day to you, too! Okay, so spaghetti it is! There’s really nothing to it. All you need is some butter, your leftover sauced spaghetti and a skillet. That’s it! And it’s awesome! 1 serving of Leftover Spaghetti. So, I host...
