The Book Nest: A Murder of Crows (A Novel of the Others) by Anne Bishop
http://corinnesbookreviews.blogspot.com/2015/04/a-murder-of-crows-novel-of-others-by.html
Monday, April 20, 2015. A Murder of Crows (A Novel of the Others) by Anne Bishop. Genre: adult paranormal fiction. A Murder of Crows is the sequel to Written in Red. So there will definitely be spoilers for that in this review. I never would have thought about relationships between humans and shapeshifting wolves, but there you go. I'm doing it and I like it. The end. And I've requested the third one :). Note: if you're interested in the content of the books I read, please go to http:/ ratedreads.com.

The Book Nest: Sarum: The Novel of England by Edward Rutherfurd
http://corinnesbookreviews.blogspot.com/2015/07/sarum-novel-of-england-by-edward.html
Thursday, July 16, 2015. Sarum: The Novel of England by Edward Rutherfurd. Sarum: the Novel is really two different things. It is a giant group of short stories that give you a wonderful taste of what life might have been like, what pleasures there might have been and what struggles people may have been faced with during many different of seasons of British history. Yep, it's long. I thought Vanity Fair. Was long and this was 200 pages longer. Even Anna Karenina. Where does this one belong?
The Book Nest: Classics Challenge 2010
http://corinnesbookreviews.blogspot.com/2010/02/classics-challenge-2010.html
Monday, February 22, 2010. Is this really the third year I am playing this game. Always a good way to stretch my reading in a new direction :). April 1 - October 31st 2010. I am doing "The Entree". Since I already made a list for the fun going on over at 5 Minutes for Books. I'll just be using that again minus one that I just finished reading. I'll just hold off until April 1 to get started :). North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell. The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper. Pudd'nhead Wilson by Mark Twain.
The Book Nest: The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker (audiobook)
http://corinnesbookreviews.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-golem-and-jinni-by-helene-wecker.html
Tuesday, May 19, 2015. The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker (audiobook). Another recent arrival in New York City: the Jinni. The Jinni is NOT new. He has lived for ages and has just been released from an old copper flask into a new land and a new time. With considerable skills and very little patience, the Jinni would like nothing more than break the band that ties him to an unknown master. Where does this one belong? May 20, 2015 at 10:37 AM. Just a simple collection of stories, experiences, pictures, and thoughts on life and motherhood. Saturday, September 13, 2014. The Toronto International Film Festival 2014 is almost over but what a line up of movies to watch. There's a buzz in the air for movies such as Foxcatcher, The Judge, The Imitation Game and Wild. And of course, my brother and I made it to some of the red-carpet events this year. Here's a panoramic view of Roy Thomson Hall. Many of the films premiered at this venue. Their World, A...

Just a simple collection of stories, experiences, pictures, and thoughts on life and motherhood. Friday, December 13, 2013. My little boy was a little late writing his letter to Santa but I'm glad we have good connections in the North Pole. Mr O made a special delivery to Canada Post yesterday. It hasn't been 24 hours, and the letter carrier brought Santa's letter to our hou. Even the mailman said, "This is a very important letter.". This is what my son wrote:. Yes, he did! Just a simple collection of stories, experiences, pictures, and thoughts on life and motherhood. Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Mom, you know what's awesome? JP was the first to greet me with hugs and kisses. What a sweet little boy! And on Mother's Day, here's how my boys treated me. A bouquet of spring flowers. How thoughtful! And my favourite chicken souvlaki dinner. They know their Mama. Why can't Mother's Day be every day? Posted by Ode to Motherhood. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

off the shelf: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth-Grahame Smith

Shelfari: Book reviews on your book blog. Monday, August 10, 2009. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth-Grahame Smith. I honestly can't think about this book without cracking up. Who is this guy? I am considering them you silly woman! I would much prefer their minds be engaged in the deadly arts than clouded with dreams of marriage and fortune as your own so clearly is! Much of the text is lifted right from Pride and Prejudice. Labels: read your own books challenge. What i'm reading now.

Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Ben's 1st Pine Wood Derby. It was a sweet moment. Well done Ben and Adrian! Sunday, April 08, 2012. And I followed Tracy's rule of always getting a new dress when you talk, so I got a new Easter dress too, which made me happy. Here's a few outside pictures with the new Easter outfits. The kids all have super squinty eyes outside. They all have Adrian's very sensitive eyes, which is why you don't see Adrian in these pictures at all. I call them my vampire children. Jenni's Curre...
Ode to Motherhood: January 2015

Just a simple collection of stories, experiences, pictures, and thoughts on life and motherhood. Saturday, January 17, 2015. What I Have to Do. It's mid-Janurary and I know I haven't posted in awhile. I've had some health issues, and I've been focusing my time and energy on taking care of myself. I didn't have much choice in the matter. I could sulk and be depressed, or I could do something about it. I chose to be proactive in my health. That meant a change in lifestyle, and making good food choices.

Tuesday, January 28, 2014. The Books I Read in 2013. No I'm going to just stop making those reading goals because I never know what kind of books I'll be in the mood for a year ahead. Instead I'm just going to let my reading be organic. It's more enjoyable that way and guilt free. Guilt free is good. We'll see what happens in 2014. 1 Okay for Now. By Gary D. Schmidt. Played a major role in the story? Which is a huge compliment from me. 2 The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. This book was fascinating!

Review Policy and Contact. If you liked.then read. July 29, 2015. Books I Didn't Blog About. The Eye of Zoltar (#3) by Jasper Fforde. This was a very strong third book in a four book series. The Song of the Quarkbeast (#2) by Jasper Fforde. Landline by Rainbow Rowell. Zombies Vs. Unicorns by Many Authors. I had a hard ...

The Book Nest
Friday, March 16, 2018. Homeless Bird by Glorian Whelan. Genre: young adult fiction. While I didn’t find the writing particularly beautiful or lyrical, I did enjoy this story of India. Some characters felt a bit caricatured but I found myself sympathetic towards Koly and the plight of all young brides in arranged marriages. I think it’s a great cultural introduction for younger readers. Where does this one belong? Thursday, March 8, 2018. The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer (audiobook). When Elinor...
