The Other Mrs Beaton: Chunky Crochet MacBook Cover...
http://beatonsmismanagement.blogspot.com/2013/11/chunky-crochet-macbook-cover.html
Woolly stuff. hooked. Thursday, 7 November 2013. Chunky Crochet MacBook Cover. Like Apple but not the generic plastic covers? Or don't have the budget for a super-swanky leather effort (even though we'd all love one really? At the end of the day I needed something to protect my new laptop from scratches, dust and damage, so I headed to Craftdays in Saffron Walden. To pick up some supplies. To cover one 11" MacBook Air). 100g Chunky Wool (grey). 100g chunky Wool (pink). Size 5mm and Size 7mm crochet hooks.

I’m working with some pretty delicious yarn at the moment, that I bought on a whim because it’s so beautiful. I’m using it to make my. I got it from this shop. In Saffron Walden. It was a little bit pricey, but I’m pleased to be able to support local traders. June 8, 2014. June 14, 2014. Luscious Lemon Swiss Roll →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Libby Smith : April 2016
http://libbysmith11.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 April 2016. I can't believe it is the last day of April already - with the weather taking so long to warm up I have felt a bit like the garden - held back. But I'm sure that once the warmth comes things will probably be all the better for it. I love this time of year with the promise of what is to come - a bit like the prospect of opening ones presents. These four pages are about the herbarium that Emily kept and the poem I have selected to partly illustrated the fourth page -. Forgive us, i...

Libby Smith : In Reflective Mood
http://libbysmith11.blogspot.com/2016/11/in-reflective-mood.html
Friday, 18 November 2016. During the last two weeks I have been suffering from a nasty cold that persists in hanging on. However, I've tried not to let it stop me from going out on the brighter days to cheer myself up and last Sunday I walked round Marks Hall Gardens with friends and took the lovely photos below. The lovely splashes of red and some sharp greens and that wonderful reflection on a cold November day. A family was having a group photograph taken against this beautiful backdrop. Last but not ...

Libby Smith : March 2016
http://libbysmith11.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, 31 March 2016. The Art of Slow Stitching. I work the simple stitches across the collage of fabrics and papers left to right making adjustments as I go. The stitches are either running stitch, seed stitches or French knots, the fabrics mainly silk - organza, habotai, chiffon, sari ribbon and a strip of calico - all of which I have dyed myself and then added some print detail. Tuesday, 8 March 2016. Below is the beginnings of my new altered book that I started a couple of weeks ago which is on al...

Libby Smith : Winter Projects
http://libbysmith11.blogspot.com/2017/01/winter-projects.html
Sunday, 8 January 2017. Nestled inside a sweeping curve of the Alabama River southwest of Selma, Gee's Bend is one of America's most geographically isolated communities. It has been linked to the outside world by a single road, which remained unpaved until the late 1960's. The residents' ancestors worked in the cotton plantations there, first as slaves, then for several generations as tenant farmers.". The image will help to show me where I need to put the embroidery stitches to achieve the image I want&...

Libby Smith : May 2016

Thursday, 26 May 2016. A Stitch in Time. With more workshops coming up and, as a member of EAST, a new exhibition coming up next year, I have been pressing on with the altered book on Emily Dickinson and putting a few finishing stitches to a landscape that I have been working on over the last few months. Today we have had really good light for taking photographs so have taken the opportunity to do three posts in one day! Another wonderful place to visit for walking and taking photographs of landscape for...

Libby Smith : September 2016
http://libbysmith11.blogspot.com/2016_09_01_archive.html
Monday, 19 September 2016. I have been in Cornwall for the last week or so - staying at the usual apartment in Praa Sands which has a lovely sea view. Each evening I walk along the beach and since our last visit the tree pictured below, which was once in the garden above, has descended to the sand through coastal erosion. It was a perfect, warm, late summers evening and the light was just right. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hopleys Nursery, Garden and Cafe. The Herts and Essex Antique Centre.

Libby Smith : January 2017
http://libbysmith11.blogspot.com/2017_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 17 January 2017. It has been a good exercise as besides being very therapeutic, it also allows you time to think of other things such as what direction my work will take this year. Much in the colour combination below which is one of his paintings. I would love to have a go at doing the knitted version of this - I feel in working so closely to something somehow you get a better understand of it, plus I remembered that my friend Rene had lend me a book of his Journals. Libby Smith : November 2016
http://libbysmith11.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html
Friday, 25 November 2016. Today is a glorious sunny November day - I only wish that last Monday had been the same! So with a beautifully bright day today I have taken some photographs while the light is good. I like the words within the landscape "a secluded world of cool sun . was in the midst of its green world" - I like the way these random words can suggest a mood. Friday, 18 November 2016. I love the varying shades of the berries and the grey stems. On the left the fabrics have been held down with n...
