What happens when obsession becomes a way of life...
Craft Ninja: Mar 1, 2013
http://craftninja.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
What happens when obsession becomes a way of life. Friday, March 1, 2013. I'm not dead yet! Look for posts coming back soon, folks. I have been up to plenty in the past few weeks and I have a ton of stuff to show, as soon as I can take some pictures of it all! I had an awesome whirlwind trip out to Stitches West last weekend, where I helped the divine (and tragically injured) Romi and the ever-energetic Jeanne out in the booth Romi shared with A Verb for Keeping Warm. I also got to meet Allison. I only b...

What happens when obsession becomes a way of life. Thursday, August 29, 2013. Well, my poor little blog has been much neglected - but not for a lack of stuff to talk about, that's for sure. I'm actually writing this blog from my new iPad. I got me a bluetooth keyboard and I'm raring to go. My photos may not be as gawgeous as they would be from my big camera, but it's better than nothing, right? I don't. But I like to.). This shawl has beads! 160;I chose Silver-Lined Smokey Topaz. More beads, yay! 160;I...

What happens when obsession becomes a way of life. Monday, October 15, 2012. People often say that I knit fast, but I don't think that's true - I just knit a LOT. With no kids, no dog, few more "active" hobbies, a shamefully high tolerance for household clutter, a husband that does all the cooking, and a highly cultivated ability to procrastinate things I don't like to do, I spend a lot of time knitting. And oddly enough, the first one (the one on top) seems lighter than the second one, which I really ca...

What happens when obsession becomes a way of life. Saturday, December 8, 2012. Our Christmas preparations continue. I was so excited to decorate our tree. I am very sentimental about my Christmas ornaments as it seems like each one has a memory. Like these, which I brought back from my parents' house:. Then there is this one, a handpainted ornament we bought on our honeymoon in Alaska. I think we bought it in Anchorage from Cabin Fever, but if I recall correctly, the artist is from Homer. And my third pa...

What happens when obsession becomes a way of life. Sunday, January 13, 2013. Oh, hi 2013, barely noticed you! I feel like I barrelled into 2013 with barely a wave goodbye to 2012. Perhaps it's the absence of my usual trip home at this time of year, or maybe it's just because we've been a terrible combination of busy and sick, but there was definitely no pause for reflection this year for either of us! This weekend is the first in a long time where we haven't been committed to something. I did manage to p...

Somerset Stitchery: August 2015
http://stitchesbymom.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 13, 2015. The kids have all started back to school. The school bell is ringing and the buses are making their way out and about. I remember how empty the house always seemed the first day of school. How I had wanted just a day without baking, crafts, tea parties, picnics, listening to the arguing over the tv, and all the other little things they did all day. Then once that first day was here it was like I was lost. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Knitting Up A Storm.

Saturday, March 21, 2015. Working on figuring out blog posts. Sunday, May 25, 2014. Getting Settled At Home. I am still getting into the process of being at home. That is not having to get up and make the trek to work everyday and spend my day sitting behind a desk. I have started working on organizing my yarn and material which by the way I have just about decided my stash will never be used up but I hope to be making a dent in all of it soon. Both seem to be doing fine now. I will be posting pictures soon. Links to this post. Sunday, May 11, 2014. I have been a k...
Somerset Stitchery: Using kitchener stitch
http://stitchesbymom.blogspot.com/2015/01/using-kitchener-stitch.html
Thursday, January 15, 2015. I have decided to try using the kitchener stitch to seam shoulders. On this baby sweater it has seemed to work very well. There is no seam on the inside and it looks like a continuous piece of knitting. Shoulder seam done with Kitchener stitch. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Somerset Stitchery- Etsy Shop. Wednesday, September 3, 2014. You every notice how hearing a voice from long ago takes you back? I just got off the phone with one of favorite cousins. Suddenly, the sounds of yesteryear are there. We spoke of how much he thought of my dad. Just the voice brings comfort, warm feelings. Good memories. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Somerset Stitchery- Etsy Shop. Monday, August 03, 2015. Weekend Project: Candy-colored crochet purse. Even my weekends at home are packed because I am that kind of person who never gets bored because I have tons of things to do - crafting is one. And before I forget, the button is also stitched using a thicker cord since the plastic buttons came in a little late. Links to this post. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Mauve and grey crochet motif. What about some sketchbook tour? I am really getting worse at keeping up with all these channels. But a sketchbook tour? That's an achievement isn't it? Enjoy the video. :). Links to this post. I've seriously started an art journal and diary last year which explains my absence from the world wide web. Thank God I am not a famous person so the internet does not break when I am gone. Though at some points in my life I felt that I was. :D. A photo posted by Kim (@craftnikim) on. Jul 8, 2016 at 8:34pm PDT.

Thrift scoring and instagraming, that's my game. Most people, when they get some time off from work, will plan a trip to somewhere relaxing and luxurious. when I get a week off, I visit every dirty, smelly, crowded thrift store in Los Angeles, and I love every minute of it. I planted a few succulents in the orange pot today, I'm definitely in a spring planting mood! Anyway no way I'm selling it, this baby is going up in the bedroom. I hope you're enjoying this gorgeous spring.flowers are everywhere!

What happens when obsession becomes a way of life. Friday, September 13, 2013. Victory is mine. Sorta. I made it, just barely! I had 2 grams and change remaining. I ended up doing 7 repeats of the wing chart on the right side (1 less than the recommended 8 in the pattern) and 6 repeats on the left side. If I had had just one more gram of yarn, I could've done the whole thing. I averaged roughly 3 grams per repeat. In real life it is nowhere near as neon as it looks in this picture. I started this blog to force myself to craft on a regular basis. Each week, I will post a picture (or two) of a recent craft I have made. Sorry it isn't very exciting. Monday, October 29, 2012. Apparently this blog was found Artsy by Grace. So thank ye for that! Now I must answer the following questions:. 1) Skirts or Jeans? 2) Cats or Dogs? Let me say I didn't mind either until I had a kitchen cleaning business two years ago, and there was dog and cat hair EVERYWHERE! 3) Cows or Horses? 5) Rain or Sun?

Tuesday, June 16, 2015. We had the chance to "puppy sit" our Son and DIL 's little puppy, Mia Bella. Instead of leaving her in a Kennel they asked if we would watch her for 4 days. She is such a cutie and loves to play. I am worn out LOL. She is very well behaved and well trained so she really wasn't any trouble.just loves to play.didn't I already say that! She is a mix of Maltese and Chihauhua. She is now home and our house is quiet. I mean really, how can you resist this little face,. Links to this post.
