February is for Finishing (NaKniSewMo): At the Wire

http://naknisewmo.blogspot.com/2008/02/at-wire.html

Friday, February 29, 2008. Lucky it is a Leap Year. I needed the extra day to finish up, but the mittens are done and warming the hands of my friend. These are knit from Knit Picks Elegance, alpaca and silk. The color is lilac, and it took just a bit over two skeins I used 3 mm DPNs. The pattern is from Ann Budd's Handy Book of Patterns, and I modified the thumb to make it less tight (by using the instructions for the next size up). This comment has been removed by the author. Thursday, March 1, 2007. Four for seven is better than half bad right? Or is it five? But I love it anyway, the fit is really flattering. Many thanks to the ladies at SnB for assuring me that it would be fine when I was sure it would be better off in a pile of crinkly yarn on the shop floor. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). February is for Finishing (NaKniSewMo). Send me an email. And I'll add you to the party! Here are the rules. For myself, just in case you like structure. The finish of the finish.

gearncniht: Craftiness in Turkey

http://knittingpearl.blogspot.com/2007/07/craftiness-in-turkey.html

Where knitting meets linguistics! Tuesday, July 03, 2007. Okay, so the previous four posts pretty much sum up my vacation to Turkey. It was such a wonderful experience! I can't wait to go again! So, on my second (full) day in Istanbul, I met up with Nihal. And of course, it was so cheap! I was like 1 Yeni Türk Lirası. Usually abbreviated 'ytl') per 100g (about 0.55 euro or $0.77 per 100g)! Can't beat that, eh? The Coachella project ended up being the. Can you believe it! What did I do? I always admired y...

Monday, January 29, 2007. I am showing my commitment to the KAL by finishing a sock from my list BEFORE February! Can you smell that, ladies? That's the smell of pen ink crossing something off a list! I have chronic startitis so have a lot of finishing to do this month including. 1) Weaving in the ends on 2 scarves. (One was a birthday present from September.). 2) Block and gift an alpaca scarf. (I wove the ends in last night! 5) Finish my Branching Out Scarf. I don't even remember when I started this.

So, the dryer was finally fixed yesterday, so I'm going to do some sewing this week. I really think starting slow, with a simple Victorian chemise, is the best thing for my emotional level right now. About 6 months ago, I started projected cohesive master bed room. I took the matching bed side table I picked up at a thrift store for the guest bed room years ago, the severely abused dresser my mother in law gave us, and a dresser I found at a thrift store for $20. So This is How I did it. To secure the fabric on the back, cost 1 hour.
