I used dk/8ply cotton from my stash and a 4.5mm hook for my hearts. Heart Applique by Juliette Peterson. Sl st: slip stitch. Work 4 ch, sl st into first st, to form ring. In Rd 1 one bump of the heart is worked, then the tip of the heart and then the second bump. Stitches have to be pushed while working into the ring in Rd 1 so there is enough room to accommodate all stitches. Dc, htr, tr, 2dtr, tr, htr, 2dc, htr, 2dtr, htr, 2dc, htr, tr, 2dtr, tr, htr, dc, sl st. Do not turn work. Till next time, Ali.

Sorry haven't blogged for a while now.have been busy with mundane things around the house. All very boring! I cant believe how quickly the summer is flying by. I do like a bit of i-cord either done on two double pointed needles or on my knitting nancy. I've seen i-cord machines and thought I would like to have a go in case I ever needed to make vast amounts of knitted cord. So with labour saving in mind I ordered my Prym Knitting Mill online. After reading the instructions several times I had a go.then another go.then another go. I don't know what I have been doing wrong but I ended up with more knots and tangles than cord. Sorry Ali, no good advice Im afraid!

In my last post I showed photos of my half granny shawl, which I made for the SIBOL challenge. Each shawl or blanket sent to the Homes is decorated with a butterfly, so I wanted to include some with my finished shawl. I had a look on the Internet and found one I liked, on You Tube .a tutorial by Yolanda Soto Lopez, click here. Based on a video tutorial by Yolanda Soto Lopez click here. Uses UK crochet terminology. Dk/8ply yarn - two contrasting colours. Make a magic circle with yarn and sl st into circle.

Sunday, 22 March 2015. Modern Irish Bee March Block. I finally got my Bee blocks completed today. Http:/ mansewing.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/burstblock.pdf. Or go to the Modern Irish Bee blog for a link to the You Tube tutorial. An American man sewing as only an American man could sew. This block takes about 10 minutes to do, so very fast, but you need to concentrate and be quite methodical. Not much else in the way of sewing around here at the mo. Look at my beautiful whippet. My new years resolution should have been, post more regularly on my blog. Well here goes, I'm following the dog Santa hat with another dog related craft. This time its a snuffle mat, made from fleece strips and and rubber doormat with holes. Obo likes to "help" and here he is assisting me sort out the fabric.
