March 15, 2016. In 2005, I was twelve, and I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. I’d spent the best half of a year developing weird symptoms – painful and swollen ankles that we taped up because we thought it was just a sprain, constant mouth ulcers, a sore stomach that mum tried to fix with Gaviscon (Gaviscon, mum, seriously? The stoma journey so far…. 2 thoughts on “ Hello world. March 16, 2016. Thank you for sharing. My 18 year old niece has been diagnosed recently. March 16, 2016. Liked by 1 person.

Countdown ’till surgery – Crohn's Chronicle
https://crohnschronicleblog.wordpress.com/2016/06/04/countdown-till-surgery
Countdown ’till surgery. June 4, 2016. The stoma journey continues! A lot has happened since I last updated this blog. Most importantly, I got a date for my stoma surgery… it’s in three days! I actually got this date confirmed two weeks ago, but I’ve been kinda exhausted lately and didn’t even feel like typing up some vaguely coherent blog post. On my jean waistline. I was a wee bit bummed about this for a second, but then I realised. This is the perfect excuse to go out and buy a whole new wardr...IR...

June 17, 2016. On June 7th, I had a loop sigmoid colostomy to divert activity from my bowels due to Crohn’s Disease. The whole process was very simple, and I’m recovering well from the surgery, so I thought I’d write a few words to explain exactly what I went through, as well as maybe provide some tips or words of advice for other people looking to get an ostomy in the near future. Do up your drainable bags! The blood in the bag is totally normal. The incision on the other side is from the laparoscop...

https://crohnschronicleblog.wordpress.com/2016/04/06/ten-reasons
April 6, 2016. Ten things that are scary about having a stoma:. Not being able to wear my favourite skinny jeans ugh they’re so comfy. Having to wear low cut skinny jeans instead like it’s 2005 no thanks. Not being able to go into the crowd/mosh pit at a concert. Going into the crowd at a concert and exploding over everyone. Having to change the bag up to six times a day. Explaining to people that no it’s not weird I just have a bag of poo glued to me. Having to carry supplies around in case of emergency.

What is Crohn’s? What is a Stoma? Spreading awareness of IBD, and inspiring others living life and travelling the world with an Ostomy. HAVE BAG, WILL TRAVEL. May 24, 2015. October 19, 2015. As we travelled around the world, I wrote down thoughts about Crohn’s and about what it is like travelling with an ostomy. I wanted to do this for others with a stoma, to help with hints and tips on what to do and what not to do, and hopefully prove it can be very doable! And we needed to find somewhere to empty.

Crohn's Carnivore
An experiment where I eat nothing but meat for a year. Tuesday, December 13, 2016. It's been three years since my last colonoscopy, and three years since my last post. Reading that post feels like reading a note in a time capsule; so much has changed since then.
