8230;for the Word became flesh. With God in the World. October 7, 2008. But practically, what does this mean? Well, yes, it increases our thanksgiving and love for God when we are reminded of what He has done for us. But how often do we take advantage of this change? One of the biggest ways that we can do this is through prayer. That is our direct line to God, where we do the calling on Him. How many of us go through a day and don’t pray at all? How often do we do that? No Longer Strangers and Aliens.

8230;for the Word became flesh. April 30, 2008. I’ve always seen this verse as almost a singular command, to not be anxious, much as Jesus admonishes us in the Sermon on the Mount. In many ways it is, but in context I think the emphasis of these verses is not to be anxious for nothing, but to fix your focus on God. In verse one the chapter begins with “stand firm in the Lord.” How do we stand firm? By keeping our eyes fixed on Christ. Perhaps this verse is less the antidote for anxiety, and more a simple...

So I’m turning it into an ABC post =P. Paul lists out a bunch of things in 4:2-3: humility, gentleness, patience, tolerance, and unity in the Spirit. How can we take practical, real steps in building the strength and unity of our community? Way If you just com...

8230;for the Word became flesh. April 14, 2008. Where is my home? 3 thoughts on “ Defending the Kingdom. Good thoughts here. I totally agree with your assessment of the subtle things can draw people away from Christ and how we should respond. Let your anger and your wrath turn away. From your city Jerusalem, your holy hill,. Because for our sins,. And for the iniquities of our fathers,. Jerusalem and your people have become a byword.
