Herzlich Willkommen zum CryoSat-Projektbüro Deutschland, Alfred-Wegener-Institut für Polar- und Meeresforschung, Bremerhaven. CryoSat-2 ist ein Satellit zur Vermessung der Kryosphäre, insbesondere der Eismassen in Arktis und Antarktis. Der Satellit wurde am 8. April 2010 erfolgreich gestartet und trägt ein spezielles Radaraltimeter zur Bestimmung der Dicke von Meereis sowie der Oberflächenhöhen von Landeis in der Arktis und Antarktis.
