Sightsavers
http://www.cycleabike.com/sightsavers
We're so lucky to have been born in a country with such little worries regarging our health, especially our sight. My niece was born with a cataract in her eye which would leave her blind without simple treatment. This made us realise how lucky we are to be able to see so many of the amazing views the world has to offer. We will be cycling around the world in aid of Sightsavers hoping to raise as much money as possible to help give the gift of sight.

Hello, March! | i am a soft animal
https://iamasoftanimal.wordpress.com/2012/03/06/hello-march
I am a soft animal. Travel stories and musings. The closer I get to the end of the semester, the more I fall in love with my students. Check out these photos of my precious M.1 students (equivalent to grade 6 in the States). Also, my colleague, Jang, made me an awesome crocheted monkey. Jang (left) and Yu- two of the most charming M.1 students.Jang often runs up to hug me and say, I love you! North (left) and Farahan- two cute but sometimes annoying M.1 students. Jang with Jax, my new monkey! I hopped on...

Hidden Gem: Koh Kret | i am a soft animal
https://iamasoftanimal.wordpress.com/2012/02/19/hidden-gem-koh-kret
I am a soft animal. Travel stories and musings. Hidden Gem: Koh Kret. We were so fortunate to get their early because the vendors were just opening and we pretty much had the island to ourselves. We leisurely walked around the island and enjoyed the serenity of no cars! The sidewalk that circumnavigates the island is a raised concrete slab. Most of Koh Kret is underwater even without the flood but people everywhere were serenely going through their daily lives. This slideshow requires JavaScript. Get eve...
Heading Home Again… | i am a soft animal
https://iamasoftanimal.wordpress.com/2012/04/09/heading-home-again
I am a soft animal. Travel stories and musings. Heading Home Again…. Six months ago I started this blog with a poem by Mary Oliver called “Wild Geese”. At the close of this particular journey, I see it fitting to recall that poem from our memories:. You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees. For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body. Love what it loves. Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. 8220;Tell me a...

I am a soft animal. Travel stories and musings. R&R on Koh Samet. As I enter my remaining weeks of teaching and living in Bangkok, I’m filled with anticipation for everything that is coming. When classes finish mid-March, I’m taking a trip south to Koh Tao to go diving followed by a trip north to Laos (hopefully)! Then after moving out of my apartment, 3 awesome folks from San Francisco are visiting for my last two weeks of travel. More on that to come…now, back to the present! What up, anemone? Fill in ...
Swimming with sharks… | i am a soft animal
https://iamasoftanimal.wordpress.com/2012/03/30/swimming-with-sharks
I am a soft animal. Travel stories and musings. Swimming with sharks…. On Thursday, March 15. After overseeing the administration of my final science exams and wishing Ari a very happy birthday, I hopped on a plane to a small town called Surat Thani. Then, after a 7-hour wait, I boarded the 11pm night boat to Koh Tao. For 8 hours, I slept on a two-inch mattress among dozens of other weary travelers. Sunset in Surat Thani, waiting for the night boat. Sunset view from Sairee Beach. Highlights include yoga ...

Cycle A 2 B
Sunday, 18 March 2012. A look back at Manchester's cycle infrastructure of 2011. Yep There it is. Manchester's finest achievement in cycle infrastructure of 2010/11. The invention of the cycle patch. The basis for the cycle patch is that they could be installed at 8m intervals (in reality double that*) without having to apply for the TRO (Traffic Regulation Order) that would be required for a normal (shitty) cycle lane. In other words - they are the lowest of the low. Box ticked. Move along. Aptly, nearb...

Cycle a bike
Hello and welcome to Cycle a Bike blog, we are Jonny and Radka. In January 2011 we made the spontaneous decision to take time off work and do some travelling. We both love cycling, and agreed pretty much immediately when Jonny suggested we should cycle as much as possible. Carrying everything to survive and travelling by bike gives us the liberation to explore where we like and removes us from our daily worries. Freedom, living outdoors and socialising with local people is our desire.
