Thursday, June 30, 2011. Surgery was scheduled for 3:00 Monday. I spent the morning weeding the garden, figuring I wouldn't be able to do this after surgery, before we arrived at the hospital at 1:00. Once I got into the prep area, I learned that they were running about two hours behind. Friday, December 30, 2011. As soon as they saw me, everyone started asking me what was wrong, what did I need - I had a hard time insisting it was my friend who needed the help! So a couple weeks ago, I bought a wig. I'm not sure how much I'll wear it versus hats, but it's nice to have the option. I also feel it might offer a sense of normalcy. Fast forward eleven hours. Posts In Chronological Order. Monday, January 30, 2012. I have gained just over 20 lbs. since my diagnosis. I thought most of that weight was due to water retention and bloating from chemo. My doctor and nurses all said the weight would come off a couple of months after I finish chemo. Well, it's been almost two months and guess what? They were wrong. I still weigh exactly what I did on December 7 when I went in for my last round of chemo. Now I am paying the price. An egg is 2 points. So what's my point?
