The Goings-On: August 2014
http://zjnielsen.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 17, 2014. We have been busy with a few little projects around the yard and house lately. One is taking care of some annoying wiring. Zach pulled off sections of the exterior temporarily on the east and west wall of the house to add in outlets in the bedroom, run networking and HDMI cables. Monday, August 4, 2014. Little One has a name now, Freyja. Her middle name is Jo-Jo. :-) (thanks Isaac! Sunday, August 3, 2014. Our next door neighbor was cleaning out his garage and asked if we wanted a...

The Goings-On: Anniversary
http://zjnielsen.blogspot.com/2015/06/anniversary.html
Sunday, June 7, 2015. It was our wedding anniversary this past weekend, 11 years already. Time has sped by and yet preparing for our wedding day seems like a lifetime ago. It has been 11 wonderful years together, and we look forward what adventures lay ahead. We had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, McGuire's in Destin and walked the beach. We vowed to walk the beach more in the future, we don't do it nearly enough. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Goings-On: Head North
http://zjnielsen.blogspot.com/2015/07/head-north.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. Late Sunday we got back from a whirlwind trip up north. While it was a mostly work trip for me in Wisconsin, we managed to squeeze in time seeing friends and family in Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois. We took off in the wee hours of July 2nd and headed for Holland, MI for a weekend with the Hilldores. Laying on the guilt pretty thick. Zachary picked up a RC micro quad-copter at a hobby store to drive our cats crazy. Playing in the lake. The weekend gave us a chance to take in th...

A View From the Field. Here are a few links to Upper Peninsula (and other) sites that I enjoy very much and visit frequently. I'll start with the other Copper Harbor camera, maintained by the Copper Harbor Improvement Association. It's at the public dock. We're hoping to get this camera back up and working soon. In January, 2012, Keweenaw County added a page to its site with everything you might ever want to know about snowfall. Then there is the Eagle Harbor Cam. You must visit the Pasty Cam. There is a...

The Goings-On: April 2015
http://zjnielsen.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 19, 2015. We had an uncommon for our yard visitor the other day, a Florida Softshell. My, what long neck you have. Monday, April 13, 2015. Besides building a tea box, Zachary has been circling back on a few unfinished projects. Our hallway has been lacking trim since we moved in. Again using up the reclaimed cedar from the old carsiding, he milled baseboard, crown molding and door casings for the hallway. After staining, he gave it 4 coats of polyurethane for a nice hard finish. Much better...

The Goings-On: Shell Island
http://zjnielsen.blogspot.com/2015/07/shell-island.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. In June we spent a day at St. Andrews State Park and Shell Island. St. Andrews is just on the east end of PCB and we still hadn't visited Shell Island since we moved here, so we hopped on a shuttle from the park. Shell Island is a undeveloped barrier island between St. Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. It is a short 10 minute shuttle pontoon trip from the park. While waiting for the shuttle we wandered around the pier, which was busy with fishermen and sightseers.

The Goings-On: June 2014
http://zjnielsen.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 24, 2014. In May, Zachary's Mom and Dad came to Florida for a visit. His Mom stayed about a week and then his Dad stayed with us for about another 2 weeks before heading back home. We have a great time together, catching up and seeing some of the local sights. Having the snowy and cold winter they had in IL, they soaked up the sun as much as possible. We took Rodger on a photo safari at Wakulla Springs, to see a little of wild Florida. Hello Internet. It has been a few months, hasn't it?
