daisythoughtfortoday: September 2011

Friday, September 2, 2011. Obey before you Play. His tiny hand had to reach up to touch the door knob. I'd told him that he could play on the front porch after he picked his lincoln logs up off the floor. He stood with his hand on the doorknob glancing up into the kitchen at me. What a strange puzzled look on his three year old face. When I saw the lincoln logs on the floor I told him that he could not go out until he picked them up. His face showed relief and almost joy as he bounced toward them. If I l...

Wednesday, July 23, 2014. I watched an usher come down the stairs to a row of people and ask to see their tickets. He looked and told them the tickets were for the last performance. They asked to stay since no one was in their seats. He nodded toward the top of the stairs where others waited. "You have to leave to make room for those who came for the present performance.". Scripture Isaiah 43:18, 19. Prayer: Father, We rejoice in this day that you have made. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

daisythoughtfortoday: October 2010
http://daisythoughtfortoday.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 16, 2010. Recently my thoughts returned to a lesson on sorrow that the Lord taught me. Plant your sorrow." This was what the Lord said to me about six months after my husband's death. I was indignant. Lord, I know if you plant corn you get corn. I don't need any more sorrow. Thank you.". Not knowing how, but knowing who I agreed. Answer: "A planting of the Lord.". I knew somewhere in the Bible I had read that phrase so I searched for it. To comfort all that mourn. Our sorrows when he en...

Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Prayers Mixed with Perfume. Do you wonder what happens to your prayers? I do Where do our prayers go when we pray. To God? To an altar in heaven? The Bible writes that they have an eternal essense about them. They do not dissipate like the vapour from an aerosol can. They are more like radio waves that remain. Revelations 5:8 says that "the prayers of the saints" are stored in golden vials (bowls) and presented at the throne room of God before the Lamb. Quality time: This p...

daisythoughtfortoday: Be a Hypocrite
http://daisythoughtfortoday.blogspot.com/2013/12/be-hypocrite.html
Monday, December 9, 2013. The smile on my face was stiff, but I hoped the new lady at church. Didn't notice as I listened to her incessant talking. After all I had. Do you like it since you moved here? Evidently there wasn't one thing. That she liked about her life or the town. I continued to nod and control my facial expressions. She was talking to me, but I was talking to God while she continued. To berate everything. "Lord, I know I am supposed to love her, but I don't. Even like her.".

daisythoughtfortoday: November 2010
http://daisythoughtfortoday.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 18, 2010. Customers at the bar stools observed up close all the smells and creations being mass produced. . Extra onions. Ketchup only. . A dozen to go. The pungent greasy odor from the deep fryer combined with the sauce and onions. People from all walks of life were equal here. Instinctively I put my hand under the table and immediately pulled it back. Mine might still be there. . What had they done to my perfect reenactment of my past? I had been betrayed. Grandma's One Room School.

daisythoughtfortoday: April 2013
http://daisythoughtfortoday.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 20, 2013. My Pastor was preaching about Jonah being tossed into the sea. An older gentleman in a front pew "whispered" into his wife's ears. "That's what I call live bait.". Why didn't he want to tell them? My body was sitting in the pew, but my mind was reliving Jonah's story. Jonah knew some thing about God that made him. Want to deliver that message. So he fled from the presence of the LORD. The whale burped Jonah up on dry land and he headed for Nineveh and deliver God's message. ...

daisythoughtfortoday: August 2010
http://daisythoughtfortoday.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 28, 2010. More and more I realize that we're to live in the now. To live in the past is a distraction. To live in the future is a distraction. Today is the day of salvation. No matter how many times I have imaginary conversations with people from my past it will not change what really happened. Cuddling up with my favorite times in life keeps me from seeing that. Is the day that the Lord has made. He calls everything he makes good. Today is good. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
