The Quail's Nest

Wednesday, May 11, 2016. One of my Mom's favorite candies is the "turtle" and she loves it in any form! With that in mind for Mother's Day, I went on a search for mini cheesecakes. I settled on a recipe from Handle The Heat. Blog and will surely make these little gems time and time again. You will need a mini cheesecake pan with removable bottoms (mine is a Wilton). 1 sleeve graham crackers. 3 tablespoons melted, unsalted butter. 12 ounces cream cheese, room temperature. 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar.

Victuals | Adventures of an Innkeeper

https://lifeinbenziecounty.wordpress.com/victuals-aka-vittels

Adventures of an Innkeeper. Life in a Beach Town. More specifically Shiitake mushrooms were my choice for dinner last week. It all started with the mushrooms that I got with my CSA last week. I went to Crescent Bakery and got a nice multigrain bread. Long story short:. I diced some bacon from the Honor Family Market, real bacon that has been smoked, not doused in liquid smoke! Serve with a nice fresh, green salad and some cold, sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon or a nice cold beer. May 5, 2009.

Adventures of an Innkeeper. Life in a Beach Town. May 7, 2015. Yesterday, while taking care of our grandson for the day, I moseyed around the cottages, while the little munchkin rolled around in the gravel, collecting little rocks, and wrestling with sticks in the grass. I started to clean out the flower box by The Goldfinch. Cottage #2) and almost grabbed a Robin’s nest. Robin eggs by “The Goldfinch”. A Drive through Sleeping Bear Dunes →. Adventures of an Innkeeper. Life in a Beach Town. May 14, 2015. Concert in the Meadow. I believe that I forgot to tell you about a concert in the meadow. Last summer an older couple spend a week with us. Before they made their reservations, they asked if Mr. P. would be allowed to practice his bagpipes. 8220;YESSssss, he most certainly can! 8221;, was my answer. A Drive through Sleeping Bear Dunes. Adventures of an Innkeeper. Life in a Beach Town. Christine requested some more pictures of the Wayfarer and also some history and stories. Since we’re not busy yet, there won’t be too many current stories for a while, but what I can do is talk about things past. What I know is what 2 former owners have told me. So, if any locals are reading this and know something better than I do, please let me know! Where we live. My 3 guys are painting the eves. View from the front lawn. Turkeys on the front lawn.

Coco Is Cooking: October 2009

http://cocoiscooking.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 22, 2009. Barefoot Bloggers Blue Cheese Souffle. This weeks selection comes to us from Summer of Sexy Apartment. I have never taken myself to task to make a souffle, but I must say that I am so happy to have that culinary milestone under my belt! The blue cheese flavor wasn't overwhelming, but simply provided some tanginess to compliment the eggs. I will definitely be making this one again! Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Barefoot Bloggers Corn Chowder. This week we have Jill of My Next Life.

Coco Is Cooking: I Scream, You Scream!

http://cocoiscooking.blogspot.com/2010/07/i-scream-you-scream.html

Tuesday, July 27, 2010. I Scream, You Scream! Although these will do nothing to cool you off on a hot day, I had to share! I loved the new royal icing so much that I couldn't wait to make more cookies. My mom came down this afternoon and we cranked out several summer themed cookies, but these were by far our favorite design. I think they would be really cute favors for a party and the bonus is they won't melt on you! July 27, 2010 at 1:46 PM. Many thanks for a special mother/daughter Tuesday!

Monday, July 19, 2010. I have been on a slight Sara Foster. Kick lately, so when I ran across this recipe for zucchini slaw I thought it would be a new and delicious way to use up all that zucchini. For under $10 you can impress your friends and family and sway them into believing that you are on the fast track to auditioning for the next Top Chef. Note: I have included the Sweet and Tart Dressing recipe if you would like a lighter version of this slaw. 2 medium zucchinis, cut into 2-inch julienne. 2 Tab...

Wednesday, October 19, 2011. If you're toying with the idea of making your own wreath, all you need are a few materials and 30 minutes out of your busy schedule :) I've laid out what I've done to make the below wreath so that anyone interested can loosely follow these instructions. 1 Coil your grapevine into the loose size and shape that you like. Towards the end, twist your vine into the sprayed twigs. This will hold your wreath together naturally without having to tie twine or ribbon around it. All I c...
