History of Daniels Frameshop
http://framemaker.com.sg/pages/about/history.html
The most expensive item framed by Daniel is small enough to balance on a fingertip yet valuable enough to make any man rich. The item, a stamp worth a million dollars, is now proudly displayed in a beautiful frame, protecting it from dust and harmful UV rays. The stamp's owner has been a client for many years. We've always given him good service; he felt he could trust us completely to handle his treasure, said Daniel Lim, owner of Daniel's Frameshop. Celebrating 26 years of success!

We all have that one sheet of paper that occupies a special place in our heart, whether it be our marriage certificate, a doctorate or a painting done by our 4 year old, says Daniel. He continues, Framing these and hanging them on the walls of our offices or homes tells the world a little bit about ourselves and helps us to remember who we are and where we come from. Paper, however, is easily torn, burnt or discoloured and ink smudges all too easy.

corporate projects

Over the years, Daniel has been involved in making Singapore a more beautiful place to live and play in. His workmanship can be seen in the homes of many Singaporeans, including the rich and famous. One will find his work displayed in hotel lobbies, restaurants, business offices, libraries and many other establishments too. We love doing corporate projects. It allows us to tap into other spheres of our creativity not necessarily drawn upon when framing for some ones home, says Daniel.

The owners
http://framemaker.com.sg/pages/about/owners.html
Early on in life Daniel realized he had a creative gift. To release that creativity he picked up a brush. I soon found out that I loved painting abstract paintings, he says. It's no surprise then that almost 3 decades later he's still involved in the arts. Having a framing business has allowed me to keep exercising my passion, Daniel says, and because of my artistic background I intuitively know what the customer wants and how to accentuate the beauty of the art piece or valuable.

cabinets

A client of Daniel brought in three Chinese musical instruments(pic left) to be framed. Although the client wanted her instruments to be framed for display and protection, she still plays them often, says Daniel. So we framed them in these cabinets which can be mounted on the wall or just stood up on the floor. The client now has easy access to her instruments and when she's not playing them they double as decorative pieces, Daniel continues.

It's not surprising that the Mona Lisa, arguably the most famous of paintings ever painted, has been framed several times. And the present frame was chosen in the early 1900's to represent the style of framing prevalent in the 1500's, the century Leonardo Da Vinci painted it. This says something about the incredible depth of the art of framing. All images and text reserved. Copy write 2010 Clinton Wittstock.

People lead busy lives now-a-days, so offering our clients a consultation in the comfort of their homes is a perfect way for us to be able to enrich their lives by saving them time and money, says Daniel. The home consultations are without obligation and in certain instances, when the project exceeds a certain amount, are free. Daniel and Maureen go the extra mile to accommodate their clients. art

The walls of Daniels Frameshop are often lined with exquisite paintings from Vietnam, Cambodia, or other exotic parts of the world. When we travel, Daniel always keeps in mind the fact that we might stumble on that special piece of art, and so more often than not we find a great piece or two, which we then bring back, says Maureen. Once a customer falls in love with a piece, Daniel consults with the client to find out how they would like it framed and within a few days the painting graces their wall.

framing

Contemporary, antique, baroque, big, small, black and white, colourful, wooden, plastic, etc - the list goes on and on. We try to keep as big a selection of frames in store as possible, especially in light of the fact that we aim to have a turn-around on each project of not more than 7 days, Daniel states. Framing, however, is not just choosing a style of frame to suit ones taste, but finding a frame that one likes and at the same time compliments the piece being framed.
