Brian's birding blog: Dungeness NNR
http://briansbirding.blogspot.com/2015/08/dungeness-nnr.html
If you get out there you might just see something". ESSEX sites and rarities. Sunday, 2 August 2015. On the reserve we saw five Stoat and two Mink running along the road which is not something you see everyday. Not sure Mink have any place on an RSPB reserve. Best bird on the reserve was a splendid Lesser Whitethroat tending it's young. A decent morning in Kent with just the M25 roadworks as a negative. Year list now 248. http://annbridget.blogspot.com/2015/05/badger-cake.html
APB At Home And Away! Tuesday, 5 May 2015. After such a fantastic day yesterday mainly spent in the Garden, I decided to put the Night Camera out in the Coppice my side of the Bosley Reservoir, not expecting the rain that came through during the night, and even though very welcome for the garden and new plants, not so for the recovery of the Camera this morning! If you get out there you might just see something". ESSEX sites and rarities. Sunday, 18 November 2012. Short Eared Owls at Burwell Fen. Decided against the twitch today and opted for a lie in and an an afternoon watching Short Eared Owls at Burwell Fen in Cambridgeshire. So we headed up the M11 and within an hour we've parked up and crossed the bridge over Burwell Lode to scan the Fen for any activity. 300 Golden Plover, 200 Lapwing gulls and Crows are seen as we scan. As I got to the bridge I set up to scope the various birds feeding starting with a small group of Dunlin feeding close in and noticed a Little Stint with them and then Bingo! I enjoyed watching it learning more about it and taking in the rest of the riches this reserve has to offer. Some highlights from todays visit. Greenshank all in big numbers again. Oare Mar...

Brian's birding blog: River Roding
http://briansbirding.blogspot.com/2015/06/river-roding.html
If you get out there you might just see something". ESSEX sites and rarities. Saturday, 27 June 2015. Half hour along the River Roding this morning delivered the above along with a couple of Little Owls that didn't quite sit up for the camera. I did manage a small improvement in the Swift shot but I've still left room to improve so I'll keep trying to get the image I want with a bit more sharpness. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). If you get out there you might just see something". ESSEX sites and rarities. Thursday, 13 March 2014. It's that time of year again when Scotland calls so I've just booked the flights, the car and the cottage. The boss has agreed the time off and the Jims are up for the cup. The wife has reluctantly allowed me a little time off for good behaviour so I'm all set for the 28th March. Bring it on! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). You may also like.
