Cranky Scott: Dickie Scramble Weekend
http://crankyscott.blogspot.com/2014/05/dickie-scramble-weekend.html
Friday, May 2, 2014. Last weekend we headed down to Elgin, MN for the Dickie Scramble. We did the ride last year and we thought that we would give it a go again this year. The ride also gave us a good excuse to get out and use or camper that we got last fall. So Friday after work we loaded up and headed out. This was our first trip with the camper so I was not sure how everything would go. The trip down was good with no issues, we were all set up and had dinner going by 8. The rest of the ride was pretty...

Most of these include some connection to swimming or water in general thus the connection to Otters. Saturday, June 28, 2014. Rained out of what would have been a showpiece canyon and epic pothole thrash of Knotted Rope. We have to avoid a 1/4 mile section of very deep potholes in the main canyon because it's just a bit too serious for 2 people and our known skills. That's to...

http://thediscerninghobo.blogspot.com/2014/03/winter-14-who-needs-therapy.html
Tales of treachery, deceit and white trash adventures. Sunday, March 16, 2014. Winter 14: who needs therapy? Now that the boys are a year older; we have had our first winter where both Ali and I have been able to get out of the house. Even if it has been the coldest MN winter in 35 years. Yes, those are lips.fresh off of the face of a 3 year old. Plenty of outside fun! XC skis were had, and many a weekend afternoon was spent with the Johnsons. Why did you bring me to this forsaken place? But alas, winter...

Riding with J-No: Gravel Conspiracy
http://ridingwithjno.blogspot.com/2012/09/gravel-conspiracy.html
A pointless narrative of a wannabe endurance bicycle rider. Sunday, September 16, 2012. This post was written last week, but blogspot keeps locking my computer). This past weekend I headed to the North Shore to ride the 3 day Gravel Conspiracy. The ride started in Grand Marais on Friday afternoon with about a 50 mile ride to East Bearskin Lake. Saturday's stage was 125miles to Ely, followed by a 115 mile ride back to Grand Marais on Sunday. There were around 50? One of the many cool roads we were on:.

Riding with J-No: December 2011
http://ridingwithjno.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
A pointless narrative of a wannabe endurance bicycle rider. Friday, December 30, 2011. The holiday season is just about done. I spent much of the weekend tethered to a pager, but I did manage to get on a couple of rides. Total for the week after the failed Tuscobia experiment was 7 hours. It looks like it is snowing now. Hopefully the weekend will see some solid hours on the bike. Due to the fact my training hours are not that high, I do a week taper before big events. That leaves me 3 weeks. 2) Do not s...

A pointless narrative of a wannabe endurance bicycle rider. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. A stop in Forrestville to refill the camelbak and we set in for the last 35 miles. The clouds came out and provided some relief. Oriole road at mile 90 was the last major climb. By this time it had cooled off some, but we were both running low on water. We finished about 7pm and shook hands with Chris at the finish. That was then.(2010 Almanzo). This is now.(2012 Almanzo). 60 year old Dewey (2012). View my complete profile.
