May 24, 2014. After my initial meeting with my mentor and feeling really comfortable, my first weeks experience with her guidance and support has been amazing. The more lessons I take the more my confidence is growing but I also think this is aided by the fact that my mentor is giving me such positive and constructive feed back. For a teacher that is only in her third year of teaching she has her classroom and students totally organised. She will go through her timetable with the children every morning.

May 24, 2014. I really enjoyed and was quite intrigued by the information in our learning path regarding our digital footpath. I had no idea that most things can be tracked and something as innocently as taking a photo on your tablet or phone can leave a trail. I had been sent the lollipop link last year by a friend who warned me not to watch it at night, thank goodness I took her advise as it totally freaked me out. The actor is extremely creepy and plays his part really well. Week one done and dusted!

June 11, 2014. Just before my professional experience, a teacher from my work place kindly gave me a copy of a hand out she received whilst at a P.D. On the handout were the terms WALT – What you are learning today, WILF – What I am looking for and TIB – This is because. This was the first time I had heard of these terms. The teacher explained how she now uses them at the start of her lessons and sometimes as a reminder during the lesson to ensure the students stay on track. Lack of integrating ICTs.

It’s been emotional! June 13, 2014. I can honestly say that I never thought I would have made it to the end of this course. I felt like I did when I first arrived at Uni in my first week, as my first blog sums up ‘rabbit in headlights’. Not only had I moved my husband, two young children and myself to a new country, I was returning to studying after 24 years. Well it has been emotional and very often in those first six weeks of this course I did want to run away as far as I could. Lack of integrating ICTs.
