10 bags packing: February 2008
http://10bagspacking.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Friday, February 22, 2008. Next up: wisdom tooth removal! Wednesday, February 20, 2008. This makes me so happy. This is one of the three freakin' adorable mascots. For the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Is it wrong to want to go to the Olympics just so I can see them in person? Love There are some cute games on the event Web site, too. I think, at the very least, I'm gonna have to get a comemorative pin or somethin'. And I get buttons with it, too.

I'll run the soundboard: March 2008
http://illrunthesoundboard.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
I'll run the soundboard. Monday, March 17, 2008. I finally decided to get off my lazy ass and post some photos from my vaca. So here they are. The conservatory garden at the Bellagio. Part of the strip at night. And Zion National Park. Posted by HS Nothingswronghere. Brain Stew, the return. Here's some more intelligence from our favorite burnout:. There are some Beatles songs I can listen to over and over again. 'I am the Walrus.' You ever heard that one? Posted by HS Nothingswronghere. I think the defin...

I'll run the soundboard: February 2008
http://illrunthesoundboard.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
I'll run the soundboard. Sunday, February 17, 2008. I'm getting sick of these Above the Influence commercials that say how bad smoking weed is. If you're going to point out the evils of pot, pick out something convincing. Airing a commercial with a talking dog, even though he's chastizing you about being high, is NOT at all convincing. In fact it makes you want to smoke until dogs start talking. Posted by HS Nothingswronghere. I know I'm behind the times. Posted by HS Nothingswronghere. Why not get into ...

10 bags packing: October 2007
http://10bagspacking.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Tuesday, October 30, 2007. I am too exhausted to come up with anything clever to write (and I'm afraid if I continue to beg everyone I know for the 'sweet, sweet relief of death' people might start worring about me), I will give you a sampling of the best police reports I looked at this week. Summaries are by me, with info from the police department:. When a client became enraged after finding out there was ketchup on his hamburger, according to police reports. A 22-year-o...

Special "email from my much more successful husband" Edition:. Just got off the phone with the Wall Street Journal. The WSJ as I like to call them.Seems they like my Amish photos and want to publish them in an upcoming issue. So, yeah, no big deal. I'd be lying if I said this call wasn't expected. Well, gotta run. What do you think I do? Sit around typing emails to nobodies all day? Posted by Class of 2000 officers @ 4:38 PM. Alaskan ladyparts for the win. Also, can you tell us what Palin has done in Alaska? Are there roads there yet? A solid waste collection system? I heart she was a city council member, Miss Teen USA Alaska or something and then she was elected governor in 2006. *shakes head* it was a ballsy move, and it made me stop thinking about All That Was Last Night's Speech, but i'm not sure anyone will bite after that. or will you? Don't Call Me Ishmael: The Departure of Doig
http://dont-call-me-ishmael.blogspot.com/2015/04/the-departure-of-doig.html
Don't Call Me Ishmael. A seldom-read blog surviving against the odds. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. The Departure of Doig. Only the most gifted authors can transport readers and make characters inseparable from the landscape that molds them. Ivan Doig more than fits that description. He just died a few weeks ago and it struck me more than an author's death normally would. His latest, which brought Doig to Missoula that weekend. To come in 2014 and a final volume due in August. The Bartender’s Tale. Hooked m...

Don't Call Me Ishmael: The first mow
http://dont-call-me-ishmael.blogspot.com/2015/04/the-first-mow.html
Don't Call Me Ishmael. A seldom-read blog surviving against the odds. Tuesday, April 07, 2015. The first mow Rust Cohle infuriates Marty Hart at regular intervals in True Detective. Despite the obvious ones, a smaller moment stuck out to me. Then I became the senior tenant again in 2011. On my first attempt, I twisted the blade irreparably on a chunk of fallen tree. One new blade later, I spent the summer churning through the well-tree land on Greenland Avenue. A shortage of time forced me to...With the ...

Don't Call Me Ishmael: Congaree's Champion Trees, Many Shades of Charleston
http://dont-call-me-ishmael.blogspot.com/2015/05/congarees-champion-trees-many-shades-of.html
Don't Call Me Ishmael. A seldom-read blog surviving against the odds. Friday, May 29, 2015. Congaree's Champion Trees, Many Shades of Charleston. Looping around the state capital, Columbia, we found ourselves in a rural stretch of pine forest. After many years of planning, we reach one of the top destinations on our national park wish list. Sitting next to the Congaree River, the forest, oxbow lakes and swamp has footpaths, kayak trails and a yes, a boardwalk. Congaree was more than just sights and wildl...
