Sunday, November 30, 2008. And it's down to. Thursday, November 27, 2008. Today, a nice intern told us to have a look at a patient, and perform a neuro exam of her lower limbs. Now, neuro, is certainly not one of my best topics in internal medicine (gastro is, by far). in fact, i used to have ZERO confidence in it at all, thankfully, 1 month of subinternship in neuro (and seeing nothing but neuro) did give me a fair bit of confidence. I hope i'm like that when i'm old too! No reflexes at all bilaterally.

It's the total opposite of the rural hospital we were first in, it's v clean and modern, but somehow all of us prefer the rural hospital better - medicine there is somehow more pure? Wednesday, June 25, 2008. A death in the medical family. Today, there was sad news. A fellow doctor from my tiny little island has died, from massive haemetemesis, postulated to be due to intractable ITP. much else is unknown. I didn't know him well, but i do remember the few kind words he had for a despondent medical student struggling through her OB/GYN posting, convinced she was never going to make it. Monday, April 27, 2009. Uhhhh i feel so unprepared! In theory i should know how to manage a pre-eclampsia, and GDM patients, how to safely deliver a normal baby, how to manage PPH and do an episiotomy. at the very least!
