Kate Slater Illustration: You will not believe what happened today...
http://kateslaterillustration.blogspot.com/2011/10/you-will-not-believe-what-happened.html?spref=fb
Sunday, 23 October 2011. You will not believe what happened today. It was truly the most brilliant and astonishing morning ever. He seemed to have a penchant for her wellies. I have honestly never been so full of glee in my life. I promptly named him Magnus fed him bits of fat and barley. He even climbed up onto my back and perched on my shoulder! Until, a short while later, as we were walking in a nearby field, he appeared again! I'll upload more photos to my facebook page. How amazing is that? Also, of...

Kate Slater Illustration: A Chapel Full of Birds
http://kateslaterillustration.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-chapel-full-of-birds.html
Wednesday, 27 March 2013. A Chapel Full of Birds. I've generally been blogging over here on Wordpress. Lately, but this is truly brilliant news, so I thought I'd blog twice. I have some really exciting news which I can finally tell you ALL about! In August last year, I had THE BEST work day out, ever. It involved travelling up to Seahouses in Northumberland to meet some lovely people from the National Trust. It really will take some beating, although I am, of course, open to offers. The Farne Islands are...

Wednesday, 17 October 2012. A Celebratory Discount – Hurrah for Hilary Mantel! I made this Henry VIII illustration after reading Wolf Hall and becoming completely absorbed by all things Tudor, so to celebrate the brilliant Hilary Mantel. Becoming the first woman AND the first Briton to win the Man Booker Prize TWICE with ‘Bring Up the Bodies’, the second book in her trilogy charting the rise and fall of Thomas Cromwell, this print. Is now just £15, half it’s usual price! Posted by Kate Slater. Cassia Tho...

Kate Slater Illustration: Flying North for the Summer
http://kateslaterillustration.blogspot.com/2013/06/flying-north-for-summer.html
Monday, 10 June 2013. Flying North for the Summer. In two weeks time I’ll be transporting my flock of six-hundred-and-something birds to the Farne Islands and in under three the exhibition will be open to the public! If you haven’t been to Northumberland. Before it really is the most glorious place to spend a few days (beautiful beaches, castles, seals, BIRDS, the Cheviot Hills, Hadrian’s Wall…) AND this year, for four months only, you can visit St Cuthbert’s Chapel on Inner Farne. Kate Slater Illustration: Flight
http://kateslaterillustration.blogspot.com/2013/07/flight.html
Wednesday, 24 July 2013. I spent the last week of June working high up amongst the rafters of a 14th century chapel on a tiny island in the North Sea, attempting to suspend hundreds of life-size seabird cutouts from the roof. From my perch atop the scaffolding tower I felt something akin to a fairly chaotic puppeteer, as I tied lines to the surrounding beams while the birds swayed about unpredictably below. And printed onto gigantic sheets of Foamex, like this:. Who answered my plea on Twitter and drove ...

Liek OMG!: August 2009
http://megafatliz.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
MMD Brief Three / progress 3.0. This past week has been the most tiring week ever. EVER. But it's finally over and now I can come back to my most neglected subject. I'm sorry! I've been working on the background for my animation, and this is what I have so far. I tried putting it together with my skipping dinosaur, but it kind of screwed up. MMD Brief Three / progress 2.0. DEATH week: 1 down, 2 to go! Let's celebrate with some sketches! Just a quick one before a forthcoming DEATH week. This is a walk cyc...

Kate Slater Illustration: Magpie's Treasure
http://kateslaterillustration.blogspot.com/p/magpies-treasure.html
Magnus Magpie is a bird with an eye for burglary. He steals only the brightest, shiniest, most dazzling things and stashes them secretly in a hollow at the top of his tree. But do all these riches make him happy? It takes a trip to the moon for Magnus to discover that all that glitters is not gold and that true happiness can often be found at home. Magpie's Treasure' is my first children's book and was published by Andersen Press in November 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Promote your Page too.
