I know the Soviets were just as bad as the Nazis when it came to systematically slaughtering millions of people, and yes, the hypocrisy of the Soviets on liberating Auschwitz seems breath taking now, but Auschwitz is commonly associated with the atrocities of Nazism, so concentrating on them in particular doesn't mean I am blind to the far left's nastiness. In Soviet history, people wouldn't dare question that Trotsky had been airbrushed out of a particular scene, and give it long enough they would ultimately question what they saw anyway. As much as photographs exist as physical manifestations of memory, we all know how memory can become unreliable.
