Water wears a stone. This installation was created for the 2012 tenmoregirls group exhibition,. Tenmoregirls present Glory Box. A Glory Box evokes thoughts of heirlooms passed between generations and hand-stitched textiles. Water wears a stone. Water wears a stone. Created for the 2013 tenmoregirls group exhibition. The forms of this installation are inspired by stress balls, line graphs, cave formations and rock weathering. How much time do you give something before you give up on it? Water wears a stone. Was initially sparked by research into geisha and kimonos, together with an appreciation for the graceful image they present. It explores superficiality, the way in which people artificially manipulate their appearance and behaviour to achieve a desired outcome, the value placed on a pretty face and the transience of this value. Monday, 5 January 2015. I recently completed the final year of my Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture at Enmore Design Centre. Still much to learn (always), but with more trade/technical knowledge under my belt, I feel ok calling myself a Jeweller now. This is one of my final year projects.a hand-fabricated dress ring.from the initial saw-piercing through to the catalogue photo shoot. (Note to self: remember to take photos of all the stages next time). The last image is by Brook Rushton.

Sunday, 11 January 2015. Here are some more pieces from my 2014 TAFE project work.carved wax/cast rings and hand-fabricated earrings. Finishing everything to a 'trade standard' high polish was a little foreign to me, compared to the world of contemporary jewellery, where matte and dark is more usual.but as you can see, I became pretty good at making things shiny.
