Click on images to enlarge. STITCHING DAY AT FROLESWORTH WITH GUILD FRIENDS. WORKSHOP WITH JEAN LITTLEJOHN. On Sunday I was lucky enough to get a place on a one day workshop with Jean arranged by my branch (Lutterworth) of the Embroiderers’ Guild. Sample of Jean Littlejohn’s work. Another of Jean’s. This one is an altogether lighter piece of Jean’s. really fine and ‘floaty’. Next are two pages from her Sketchbooks. The rest are all of member’s work. Table laid out for Jean to review. A most enjoyable day.

I had such a lovely day yesterday sitting stitching with friends from the Lutterworth Embroiderers’ Guild. We have a few of these throughout the year and we take what we are currently working on and just get on with it. It is great to walk around the room and see what everyone is doing and it is always very varied. I was given this. Which I then ate! Yum Yum, delicious. You are co...

Foxgloves and Poppies: Early April

http://foxglovesandpoppies.blogspot.com/2015/04/early-april.html

Friday, 10 April 2015. The raised bed is blooming wonderfully and the primroses, primula and daisies in the containers look fabulous by the door. Its really cheery to see these colours everyday as there’s not much more going on in the garden just now. . Apart from me weeding the borders…. three days its taken and two wheelie bins full. I’m aching all over after the inertia of the winter! Salix catkins.  . I’d never really looked at them before. I mean, really looked. . Sweetpeas arrived from Sarah Raven.

Friday, 14 August 2015. On the landing of the Grand Staircase, very grand indeed with the height of the ceiling being the entire height of the building itself. A small audience room just dripping with gilt decoration. A quiet corridor, amazing really given the huge crowds everywhere else. Not enough gilt maybe! A garden somewhere in the palace, definitely not on the ground floor though. The blank panels showing the soldiers who did not return from the war. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
