One Canadians perspective on many investing topics, but specifically on Canadian options. Saturday, September 13, 2008. Well after this large market swoon perhaps now is the time to do what i previously purposed with those same companies. What a difference a few weeks makes? The companies must of all had huge write downs announced cause how else can you explain them all falling 30%. The markets are efficient after all right so this can be logically explained right? One Canadians perspective on many investing topics, but specifically on Canadian options. Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Debated buying calls on AOB and PNSN. Shares still falling and i haven't bought. yet. Since last post i have bought small amounts of DRX, PAP.a, VCM, CNJ, KSW-N, and added to PNSN and AKT.a. PNSN earnings going down and doesn't look good right now. Should of sold ORS long time ago. I have that Canwest sinking feeling again. Well i do some silly things at times. I focus on many unimportant t...

One Canadians perspective on many investing topics, but specifically on Canadian options. Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Well some quick math done on my August 24th covered call writing idea with DML and TLM resulted in some numbers. Break even on TLM and -25% on DML . before commission. I can't guess all market melt downs? In light of recent events i have thought or pondered covered calls on some beatin down oils. Buying Mastercard or Ingersoll-Rand has crossed my mind too. One Canadians perspective on many investing topics, but specifically on Canadian options. Sunday, May 3, 2009. Well lots has happened since my last post. None of it really belongs on this blog so i will look at the market. Many of my ideas to invest in have gone gangbusters. I still have some that are interesting, but the list has shrunk. Banks are somehow instantly viable again as the share prices of several have nearly tripled, see Wells Fargo. I had all but forgotten about Urainium stocks except for C...

One Canadians perspective on many investing topics, but specifically on Canadian options. Friday, September 19, 2008. Well first off i have the time and secondly its historic times so i am posting often right now. I added some books and a new blog. My 'to read' list is growing faster than i read. I like options, but one has to wonder if they will be the undoing of our banks and lenders? I still wonder why some would take a trade which has unlimited risk for only a miniscule payday? My simple answer was Y...

Canadian options: Your CPI?
http://canadianoptions.blogspot.com/2012/02/your-cpi.html
One Canadians perspective on many investing topics, but specifically on Canadian options. Sunday, February 12, 2012. While reading today i watched a short youtube video on inflation. Many of our inflation statistics seem to compare things we don't need or use and others we rely heavily on are thrown out. I vaguely recall a few years ago reading about someone who created their own inflation index using groceries and a few other items. A semi-quick laundry list of things to cover would be:. 7 Water. A ...

One Canadians perspective on many investing topics, but specifically on Canadian options. Saturday, November 8, 2008. Time for idea stealing time again. I have watched the refiners, shippers and banks fall off a cliff the past few months. just to name a few sectors. This blog post highlighted some things that i didn't know about Tesoro and its growth prospects. Now if oil prices continue down or remain stable, this i don't know, Tesoro should be a good hold for a few years. I like the Jan '10 calls a lit...

A look at the sporting world.Chadder Box style. Thursday, November 23, 2006. Loss to Nashville tonight for the Vancouver Canucks. Now while the Flames might be my favorite team, I won't try to disparage the home team or crowd. This one even hurt me! Links to this post. Monday, November 20, 2006. Way to go BC Lions! BC is leading Canada in so many categories these days, let's add football to the list! Congratulations to the BC Lions for their Grey Cup victory. Links to this post. Sunday, November 19, 2006.
