Saturday, May 31, 2008. This blog is the story of my desire to add twins to our family. I was a little crazy. I told everyone I was pregnant with twins. I read every book I could find on the subject, and combed the internet for stories about homebirthing twins. At my fourteen-week appointment, my midwife thought she heard two heartbeats. Added to my feelings and my appetite, I thought twins seemed quite plausible. But by the time we had our ultrasound at twenty weeks, there was just one baby.

Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Something I have struggled with is that feeling that I must be perfect in order to be loved. Whether it means perfectly thin, perfectly organized, perfectly calm and even-tempered, or whatever other aspect of perfection I feel that I am lacking at the moment. Wednesday, June 11, 2008. I’ve had names for my twins since early on in my pregnancy with Raj. I just woke up with them in my mind one morning. Laurel Eliana and Rowan Belen. My desire to have twins feels both beautiful and true to me. And it shows no signs of slackening with time. I think that Laurel and Rowan are aware of it and waiting to come. Posted by Sarah Familia. I made this for my daughter's 4th birthday last weekend and had so much fun doing it! 1 flat, round wood cylinder. 1 24-inch-long plastic pole/small pvc pipe-thoroughly washed. 1 really creative, awesome father to attach the pole to the wood with his wood-working tools. 24 rainbow-sprinkle cake donuts. 2 dozen plain donut holes.
