Miriam's Madness: Day 15
http://miriam-miriammartin.blogspot.com/2012/09/day-15.html
Monday, September 17, 2012. Montana Saga - Day 15. Our pictures cannot show the height and depth of what we were seeing. Once again.layers and layers of mountains. We made it to Red Lodge and decided to stay in that cute little town for our last evening. We had a steak dinner at the Carbon County Steakhouse and snagged a room at The Pollard Hotel. It will only take an hour to drive to Billings tomorrow. September 18, 2012 at 12:41 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Miriam's Madness: Day 3
http://miriam-miriammartin.blogspot.com/2012/09/normal-0-0-1-367-2097-all-creatures.html
Monday, September 3, 2012. Montana Saga- Day 3 - "Jump Down, turn around, pick a can of bear spray". Mimi and I have just returned from about 8 hours road travel and are both just about at the exhaustion level. Before we end the day though let me share some of the highlights. Evidently this morning Mimi was more than a little peeved with my attempt at subtle sarcasm at the end of our last blog. I have only seen it once before and it was demonstrated by a Master. Are you OK sir? As we passed through the t...

Miriam's Madness: Day 13
http://miriam-miriammartin.blogspot.com/2012/09/day-13.html
Friday, September 14, 2012. Montana Saga - Day 13. Today we drove into Teton National Park. The mountains in the park, the plains and prairie are stunning. However, there are no animals- None! They list animals in their park literature. At every crossroads there is a sign telling you to drive slowly to save the life of a wild animal. The only problem is that all the animals have moved to another park or totally out of the parks altogether. For me, that is no great big deal. We never saw a thing. Love the...

Miriam's Madness: Day 4
http://miriam-miriammartin.blogspot.com/2012/09/normal-0-0-1-228-1302-all-creatures.html
Monday, September 3, 2012. Mimi and Alan’s Montana Saga- Day 4. Today was less eventful than others in terms of what we saw, not getting lost, not falling and not driving on any gravel roads. We left Helena around 12:30 PM and headed west on Hwy 12, traveling through numerous small towns before hitting Hwy 90 west. We left 90 at a small state road, number 271. It was only 24 miles long but it was the prettiest of the day for two reasons. We turned onto Hwy 141 and then 83 towards Kalispell. And lots more...

Miriam's Madness: Day 7
http://miriam-miriammartin.blogspot.com/2012/09/day-7.html
Saturday, September 8, 2012. Montana Saga – Day 7. Quite a difference in our previous sunny skies. Notice the layers of dark, angry clouds to a "normal" layer of rain clouds. Best day of the trip so far. I’ll let Mimi tell you about the animals we saw and she photographed so well- I’ll just talk about the trip to East Glacier. This is by far the wildest and most remote part of the park. All the literature about the park says it’s the heart of the park and I believe it. Here, I commented more than once th...

Miriam's Madness: Day 5
http://miriam-miriammartin.blogspot.com/2012/09/day-5.html
Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Mimi and Alan’s Montana Saga- Day 5 Glacier National Park. Mimi and I woke up early today thanks to a little help from a hotel guest that walks on four legs and communicates with a bark. We had a nice breakfast at our hotel and some of the best bacon I’ve ever eaten before heading out to sightsee. Our plan was to check out and head to Glacier National Park- we just started a little earlier than planned. The scenery is stunning, as you would expect in a national park. I did t...

Miriam's Madness: Day 2
http://miriam-miriammartin.blogspot.com/2012/09/normal-0-0-1-331-1888-all-creatures.html
Sunday, September 2, 2012. Day 2 of the Montana Saga. Mimi and I woke up in Billings (which is fitting since that’s where we went to sleep), ate a great breakfast and spent a little time walking around the local farmer’s market. We saw every kind of vegetable and fruit but the most interesting thing was people who looked vaguely Amish/Mennonite in that all the men wore beards and the women all sported these little polka-dotted headscarves. We sort of slipped over the top of Great Falls and hit Hwy 89/200.

Miriam's Madness: Day 6
http://miriam-miriammartin.blogspot.com/2012/09/day-6.html
Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Montana Saga- Day 6. Mimi and I woke a little later this morning and went to breakfast after a short walk here in Kalispell at a neat place called the Split Rock Café. She had a “Scramble” and I had the “2. Street Wrap.”. I won’t spend time describing them but if you ever get here try them out. After brunch, we split for Libby planning to drive a triangle and arrive back into Kalispell after supper. These are just stops along the spectrum. Our route led from Kalispell to Lib...

Miriam's Madness: Day 11
http://miriam-miriammartin.blogspot.com/2012/09/weve-named-this-blurry-animal-bighoof.html
Wednesday, September 12, 2012. We've named this blurry animal "Bighoof". Montana Saga- Day 11. Our day started early in Bozeman with us on the road by 9:30. I know that doesn’t sound early but Mimi regularly takes about 4-6 hours making certain that her posts are professional travel magazine worthy. Last night we were up until about 2AM Montana time just so everything would be right. Any-way, as I was saying, we started early. We headed west on Hwy 84 until it joined 287 south. Going up the second road s...
