The original recipe for the Aviation cocktail » Cocktail adventures at Oh Gosh!
http://ohgo.sh/archive/the-original-aviation

But couldn’t because I didn’t have any Crème de Violette. Crème de Violette is a deep lavender coloured liqueur that uses Violet flowers to obtain its rather unique taste. Two Sheets in the Wind. Forbidden Fruit, the Obsession Begins…. April 23, 2010. Forbidden Fruit is one of those obscure, legendary liqueurs that you occasionally hear whispered about. For me, it was the bottle. Innocently enough, I was indulging in my love of black and white film, watching Cecil B. DeMille’s “Why Change Your Wife? Then, whim struck again, and I did a little more research. And, lo! Figured the Taboo approach was good, so I tossed the following together:. 1 starfruit, sliced. Expired, I no...

Two Sheets in the Wind. Stocking a Liquor Cabinet. October 5, 2010. Luksusowa – $18 – surprisingly smooth for the price point, and much nicer than its compatriots under $25. Mineral notes with hints of citrus, as opposed to heavier citrus or spice notes of many vodkas. Stolichnaya – $25 – I started on this one, and it is still my second choice on cheap vodkas, as it is readily available, and drinks easier than the rubbing alcohol that is Skyy. Still making observations on this one too. I don’t ...Buffalo...

The Rack n Rye Cocktail

Imbibing in the Big Apple and beyond . The Rack-n-Rye Cocktail in 12 seconds. February 15, 2011. So what the heck took so long? I really have no idea why it did. What you may ask could have taken so long learning how to fly a plane, perfecting my parkour technique or finally finishing my long over due dissertation on quantum mechanics? Well, for a novice imbiber like myself it was far more a dereliction of duty and important than any of these I failed to make the above named drink properly! 1 1/2 oz rye.

Terribly imprecise, I know, but this one’s a drink to feel your way around. Did I say microwave? I did, and unapologetically. Feel free to put the kettle on for a more satisfying auditory experience, but it’ll just take longer. How sweet should it be? Depends on how you like your coffee or tea.
